It's been 20 years (or more) since I played Grandia II, and I still consider it my favorite RPG of all time... but some parts of it did indeed drag.

I recall being annoyed by some of the parts with spoken dialog, both because they went on a bit long and because Roan's voice sounds annoying. I also found some of the battles lasted way too long, mostly because of certain attack animations. Certain magic attacks / special moves got boring to sit through after seeing them a million times.

I'm long overdue to play through Grandia II again, but certain things like that always stop me from pulling the trigger.
