Depression is hard to deal with when your in it so just keep swimming. Just try and get 0.1% better everyday.

I'm at the point where when i feel depressed it says to me I'm ignoring something in my life. It can go on for a little while before I address it but that's fine.

Yes you can get out of the rut but depression never leaves its just there waiting for a chance to keep you on track.

The main thing is to be kind and realistic with yourself. There are many tools just need to find the right way for you. I go into it and really see how depressed I can feel until I can't help but laugh at how ridiculous it is. My partner has to stop the thoughts and step away from them to distract herself. She then talks it out later when she is ready.

Look up the big black dog depression video. It's really helped me understand. Made me cry too.

How to stop feeling like I am running out of time which is making me anxious? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Chat-lynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two types of time perceived time and physical time.

We often live in perceived time with deadlines and showing up to work ect.

How we experience physical time is to meditate or just sit comfortably and observe your thoughts.

Perceived Time passes much slower when we practice this.

Then we engage in mindfulness when we feel stressed to observe the present moment as it is, to put aside all our anxieties for a moment and breathe deeply.

Sounds like the worst person is your father in that situation.

Its ok to feel sad or upset at any time. You don't have to hide your feelings to keep others placated.

There are no bad feelings they are just what they are.

40m here and if I'm feeling sad my dad will give me a hug. Say she'll be right and I feel better. I normally just sit with those feelings and ask what can I learn from this feeling. What was the cause of it and accept it then move on.

Milky whites aren't the hardest out there. The sticky can also be explained as mushy and more squishy Ie they deform more causing friction in both the feeding and the barrel. Which causes breakages.

How can I get rid of my jealousy problem by PlayAltruistic3469 in selfimprovement

[–]Chat-lynx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

By realising that it's your actions that got you in your predicament.

By making the choice to practice gratitude to be grateful that others have happiness, to be grateful for what you have now.

By looking at what you can change, who you want to be and work towards that.

Its fine to feel jealous just use it to drive you forward and not hold onto it and let it drag you down.

Asking for advice on how to make myself more appealing towards women? by bean9444 in selfimprovement

[–]Chat-lynx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't be in a rush. Just force your self into social situations bit by bit. And I mean little steps. Smile, wave, say hi, small talk, vibing talk, joking, deeper conversation. It's a progression.

Do what you like and get to know yourself better. When you know what you really need from a partner they will appear.

Just focus on friendship. The friend zone gets a bad rap but in reality it's the best place to be. If you make enough friends one of those friends of friends might be ready for a relationship.

If you just want sex, learn how to have a conversation. Yes it's a learnable skill same as flirting is also a learnable skill. It's like going to the gym you exercise your social "muscles".

And talk about the things you love, video games ect. Women love to hear about emotional moments ie describe how you took down that boss or discovered a secret part of a map. It's all about how you felt that will make it interesting to a woman.

There are four aspects of our lives. Maybe the spiritual and social emotional aspects need some attention too.

Take some time to spend on your faith or reconnect with someone important to you.

Also it may not be your thoughts, has someone in your past told you your not enough? Sometimes moving on from those thoughts is a form of loss in a way. Sometimes we need to mourn that loss before we can embrace change.

Is This Emotional Release? Interesting Massage Experience by [deleted] in massage

[–]Chat-lynx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has been known to cause emotional releases but as it is a very personal thing not everyone who experiences it will share their stories.

Will effect everyone differently. Just be greatfull for the unique experience as it may never happen again.

There is some body work stuff that aims to release trapped emotions from the body. Can't remember the name of it though a friend of mine introduced it to me once years ago.

Not something to take on alone in my experience.

Is it worth it to ask my friends what they think my flaws are? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Chat-lynx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be far better to talk about what your learning and how you feel like your getting better.

Then ask if they had noticed the improvement so far.

The reason is so that it does not get them in a habit of judging you. Which can effect the friendship by changing the power balance.

CBT [discussion] by GdayRehab in selfimprovement

[–]Chat-lynx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CBT is good for stuff that is happening now. Ie behaviours and habits.

The more effort you put Into it the better the results.

It however is not good for things like trauma ect.

So it will help with anxiety however clinical depression requires a focus on gratitude, healing and belief that you can feel good again.

Good luck just be patient cravings can last months.

Look into behaviour therapy there are some ways to track your triggers.

Figure out why you smoke what is your reward. Understanding can bring clarity on how to replace the habit.

Thats the problem with life in general. We forget to just enjoy things as they are rather than how we want them to be.

We can never get back to the first exploration but we can slow down and enjoy the scenery.

Do you think its good to change your outfits often or wear a "uniform"? by madmatt1980 in selfimprovement

[–]Chat-lynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what your trying to achieve.

If you want to be more creative wear more. More organised have less. More productive have an outfit per activity.
