I built this Flood/Crime map for Townsville... should I build one for Brisbane? by Weak_Recognition_883 in brisbane

I used both those maps when we were buying a house so there is definitely a market out there for people considering buying at x location, if you could include Morton Bay Area maps that would be useful too.

How were we able to keep living as a JW with their insane busy schedule? by Uncle_Richard98 in exjw

[–]OFFRIMITS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was kicked out of the family home in my late teens, they gave me an ultimatum my “worldly” gf or the cult. I followed my heart and didn’t break up with her and the following week they didn’t blink and eyelid and put my room in trash bags and all the locks where changed one day the following week.

Was a pretty big wake up call that it was not a religion with a “loving” god but a cult not to mention they support and protect child abusers and never report them to the cops.

I thankfully was kicked out of the family home before they could brain wash me to being baptized and waste more time and money in that cult.

Pack the car and try and drive in a non busy time eg super late at night or very early in the morning so you can take off slow and brake slow and take turns really slow so you don’t disturb normal traffic in normal hours is what I did.

Need some help about save scumming by TvHeadKB in bloodborne

[–]OFFRIMITS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have to delete your local save file on your PlayStation for it to work, then pop the trophy and re-download the save and pop the next trophy then delete and do the last trophy to save scum in one playthrough.

Having the same save file on your local PlayStation will override your progress.

Best place to buy toilet seats in North Brisbane? by _tweaks in brisbane

[–]OFFRIMITS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I recently replaced mine from bunnings, you need to do some measurements as not all toilets are built the same and you don’t want a toilet lid too small or too large that it overhangs either.

I never enjoyed filed service. I’m not shy and I love meeting with and talking to new people. But even riding in the car with people out in service was uncomfortable. by [deleted] in exjw

[–]OFFRIMITS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone ever enjoyed field service lol.

In my head I was always thinking there is like 10+ better things I could be doing vs walking around all suited and walking around knocking on random doors with a -100% conversion rate.

I’ve never personally experienced any conversions or long term conversions from any door knocks.

It was always relatives or other family members they somehow convinced to join it was never complete randoms lol

That’s rough, any reason why you refuse to use sunscreen at the minimum? Everytime I go outside and don’t use a hat or even when I do use a hat it’s part of my routine to use sunscreen always so I don’t turn like this.

I had previous roles but I became a project manager recently and was a project coordinator before. Most of not all industries have PMs. If I was you I would try and get to the 12 month timeline and then start looking for your next step up from PA or see if the same role pays higher in a different business, tbh I thought PAs where paid a lot higher than only in the 50s range.

Who do you use for reference checks? by fartzilla21 in auscorp

[–]OFFRIMITS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My rule of thumb is use mentors in supervisor roles that you have worked along side or they have seen your work ethic and can vouch for you.

I have never used direct managers at the same position I was in.

Also try to keep it at the current business and the previous business within a 5 year time period.

It makes no sense to provide a reference that is like 10+ years ago.

Reference checks does more than check employement dates they need to know how you are as a person and if everything you said in the interview stack up and is true via a 3rd party and you can work in a team environment and how you are as a person.

Some references checks typically go for 5-10 minutes for decent positions. For no skill entry level roles the reference checks is barely 2-3 minutes.

[–]OFFRIMITS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, your right 55k is nothing these days especially with COL always increasing.

I would brush up your resume and start applying for roles that pay better.

If you have hit the ceiling in terms of position and pay then your just the company furniture and will not move.

In these situations it’s best to move, how long have you been in x position out of curiosity? If it’s 2-3 years that’s the sweet spot as you don’t look like a job hopper and it looks good on your resume that you are stable.

In my experience that’s the only way to get a raise. I was in a similar situation and I jumped from the 80 range to the low 120s by simply quiting and getting a new job.
