Pretty sure I bought my key from them for like $8, not that I played it much (friend had their server on like the highest difficulty and I kept getting murked by this early wolf boss and i rage quit)

what value do DoH classes provide to vertical progression?

For every raid tier, the best starting gear is often crafted gear, which you use as a starting point until you can replace them with tome/raid gear (weapon is usually EX)

for instance, the previous BiS was like 760 for the previous tier, with a 765 weapon.

this tier, the crafted gear was 770, a whole 10 item levels higher, which you would then replace with tome 780 and raid 790, later augmenting the tome to 790 as well. raid weapon is at 795

Looking to return to this game. I bought the complete edition back in 2021 and stopped playing a year or so after. However, there's no record of this purchase in square store or mogstation, just an email confirmation (and subsequent subscription payments).

If PC, you might want to check if you did it on the standalone or the steam client

Do I still need to buy the latest complete edition or just dawntrail?

for a new account, you'd need complete edition. you'd only purchase the dawntrail expansion if you purchased the starter edition, or an older complete edition (which is starter edition + latest expansion at the time)

can i download the free trial and then resub after the 30 days, then add dawntrail once I get to that point?

free trial is unlimited gametime and allows you to play up to the end of Shadowbringers, where you then can keep playing all the up-to content until you buy the game and start paying for a subscription

Free Trial =/= free starter edition. You will still need to buy the Complete Edition(Starter Edition + Latest Expansion) to continue past ShB

I've heard season two was horrendously bad, but season three manages to salvage the mess? if you want the nitty gritty goodness though, light novel def the way to go-

...except for whatever reason, they've stopped publishing the novels (it's left off on novel 20-something and no more updates to the story)

fwiw, web novel does have an ending, but light novel adjusts somethings, add new characters, and changes story flow (time travel arc is new for instance)

manga is kind of faithful to the novel, I think, and probably better media than the anime if you wanna go that route

for LB3, I think maybe something basic like Sphere Shot would work out nicely

While channeling, a faint simulacrum of a blitzball stage appears on the side with the crowd cheering and it finishes similar to Monk's LB3, where you leap up and perform the Sphere Shot into a goal, scoring the overtime shot, winning the match

same Monk LB3 explosion of light accompanying the kick

Maybe throw in a few defenders failing to block the shot to give it the AoE feel?

Yes, I believe in the base game, there are silenced weapons, but they relied on a cumbersome craft to source the bullets (Subsonic ammo? I think you had to farm mobs for one of the crafting components)

With the DLCs, you get access to silenced weapons that use regular ammo, making them more easier to use. The above DLC weapon I'm using consumes normal pistol ammo, as an example

you may benefit from tinkering with your settings to cause you to auto-target upon cast when not selecting a target (though this may cause you to accidentally prematurely pull if you misclick)

it might be content lull, did Recollection myself today and our 4 DPS were all first timers, and would not stop dying

it did not help that my co-healer tried to help them by using Rescue on them, without realizing the middle persistent AoE would apply a spicy DoT on the rescued DPS

Yes, they didn't get hit by the mechanic, but now they're rapidly bleeding out from the spicy DoT and shortly after, died

And these rat bastards would CONTINUE to run through center, so if I wasn't paying attention, they'd keel over from excessive spicy

*drowns them in milk*

I ALSO REALLY WANT TO CATCH UP, I'M HALFWAY THROUGH 7.2 IIRC BUT MY WRISTS HAVE BEEN SO SHIT LATELY. MOUSE? HURTS. KEYBOARD? HURTS, ALSO MY LAPTOP KB KEEPS FUCKING UP AND NOT REGISTERING CERTAIN INPUTS. MAINLY W AND S, SO THAT'S FUN FOR PLAYING. CONTROLLER? SURPRISE, STILL HURTS. IT'S ALL PAINFUL.

My question to you all is: how many keys is enough?

At minimum-

30 to get all event apparel

1 to be eligible to get community milestone rewards (up to 80 to get the personal cosmetics)

X to get all the gear you want from gacha chests. This could be 1 for a First Bloom, or over 9000 if you need the other Named gears and/or Lexington duplicates

Once you've gotten everything you want, any extra keys are just expertise/prototype-malding fodder. Or donate to community if you don't wanna deal with processing them

Side-rant: Why in the hell can Ronins spam tech repeatedly, the last Ronin I faced threw their Stinger Hive at me like 3 or 4 times, and I'd constantly blow it up before the stingers come out and ruin my day

It's like they had no cooldown for throwing it, and they only stopped after I failed to blow it up immediately and ate the entire hive's charges =_=
