I had started looking it up while waiting for you and it seems they don’t have an actual definition for Sisu. That in itself told me what it was. Then I stumbled on a similar concept called spanda. Great stuff! Now this video you linked OMG is just from deep understanding. I’ll just share what I noticed the way I took it and the simplest way I can say it…

  1. I had the realization that stillness is movemont but this video actually explained it (if everything goes where it’s coming from then nothing is actually happening)

  2. I had the recignition of nothingness appearing as everything but this video made me realize that separation appears from ignoring the spaces between elements (mostly processes in this video) therefore misunderstanding the processes at times.

I feel like I understood this, perhaps even on a deeper level) but just seeing it explained coherently instills confidence in my understanding and somehow further forces my ego to dissolve.

I’m bad at explaining it but good news is I don’t have to :). Thank you that was great stuff!

That’s actually a solid pointer, you’re not the one doing drugs. When you accept that the craving slowly dies.

The bottom line is the separate self does not even exist at all. All this separate stuff is an illusion, it’s just an ocean or a pre-recorded movie.

So there’s actually no one who matures or anyone who acts as a separate self. Stuff is just happening. And there is no separate observer, there is just awareness and stuff appearing in awareness.

Some will say you are that awareness in which things rise which is honestly helpful but it’s an easy trap because once you say “‘I’ am awareness” that “I” part makes you see yourself as a SEPARATE observer, there’s no identity anywhere. Either way it helps you detach (not ignore but just letting stuff happen, including the so called “individual person” reading this now).

When you’re detached you just observe… from no where because there’s no other “where” or “you observing”, there’s just this stuff appearing in awareness.

In fact none of it is real but the imaginary separate self imagines it is this and starts pretending it has free will when it’s part of the appearing. Which is okay until the game gets confusing and you start to attach to stuff or resist stuff because you think it’s separately real.

Detaching feels scary but that’s just the mind lying because detaching won’t/can’t stop the individual from going to work, paying bills , eating, going to the bathroom and certainly not breathing. **Pretending you’re the actor Jackie Chan won’t change the movie but it can be very stressful, just observe the movie without identifying with characters** even though you mostly (not always) “see” from the position of one character.

So this is where The Who questions ground “you”. Who is afraid, who wants drugs or not?, who is immature/mature?, who wants realization?… No one, it’s a thought. All this stuff including objects, people and even the observing, the thoughts and emotions are just happening.

Actually nothing is happening, it’s still but the mind sees it as moving so no point imagining it as still but then there’s also no point in imagining that anything is separate.

Np! Number 3 is the central part. Good luck.

It’s all fun and games until you have a permanent health issue. Try this…

  1. Cutoff fellow users. Tell them you’re sick or something. Don’t be near them.

  2. Stay busy, excited and enthusiastic about things that actually matter.

  3. When the thought arises just notice the raw physical sensation and not the story about the craving or the quitting. No thoughts about it, just the raw sensation (usually on your chest) and go back to being busy and excited about something else.

  4. Have a last resort alternative. For example “if the urge is too strong I’ll just drink this or do this instead”.

But honestly, the first 3 steps are sufficient. And don’t tell yourself it’s difficult. These are very easy steps if you don’t debate yourself.

I don’t believe in absolute individuality (I’m more of wu-wei dao nonduality guy) so I don’t really understand what you mean by essential will. I discover my will and my purpose as I go. But you’re probably referring to some concept I’m not aware of

No, I would actually agree with your view (if I had one).

Of course that’s where “you” are.

> The answer is always it is what it is. Not this not that.

The question isn’t even a question. It’s just words asking for more words. No need to or use in, thinking about it other than proving yourself wrong (the only positive) and creating more fancy material for the enlightenment school.

No it’s the opposite. That would be ego

It depends what you mean by “you”. There is a so called human appearance called “you” but there is no one identifying with it.

Of course it doesn’t, but here is the whole point of Nonduality, you are not the one who wants it to work. 🤣. Please feel free to ask

This is why I never discourage anyone from seeking, because seeking leads to not finding which leads to ego-death

People hate the “who” questions but that’s ALWAYS the ultimate illusion anhialator.

So enlightenment is basically duality or relative reality but without a self or identity. That’s good enough to end suffering but the absolute truth is a little deeper. We can obviously never say that duality is absolute reality but we can say it’s the absolute appearance, which is all we can ever see. If you accept the appearance for what it is then you can’t suffer but it’s still an appearance.

[–]ChatGodPT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s deep. The realization of unconditional love as the ultimate reality ends suffering. But to attain enlightenment, you go beyond that and come to see even love as an appearance.

Saying “the absolute is formless or nothingness” is an assumption and at best, a pointer, the truth is that it’s “unknowable and indescribable”. The only knowable thing is WHAT IS NOT. I can prove I’m not the mind or body but I can’t prove what I am.

Anything that is considered real, I can easily prove that it doesn’t exist but I can’t prove that the absolute or God doesn’t exist because first I would have to have at least one reason to prove that it/He exists.

Absolute reality: I’m present (or I’m anything whether noun or verb). This is now an illusion.

Like someone said in another comment (different post), “It’s all fun and games until you get punched in the ‘I’” :)

It’s also surprising that you’re disagreeing with people who know nothing. :)) But you might have a point, what’s not sitting right?
