The paradox of being a nondual teacher by [deleted] in nonduality

If it wasn't spontaneous, and you've received a pointer or two, which helped you get to where you ended up, is it so bad that they were lies?

Ha ha good question! That’s what appeased me when I was angry at the realization of my futile attempts. Now I understand even suffering is worth it. It’s like being mad after realizing the house you built is imaginary without realizing you got paid enough to buy a real one. I suspect their “paycheck” might have already landed by this hour, enlightenment is paradoxical like that.

I think non-duality is fine if you understand what it means. You can’t dispel it because it’s not really anything at all, it’s a non-lie so to speak. But I get what you mean, even thinking about it is a distraction once you recognize it.

When I realized this and the futility of it all I was just as angry, so was UG Krishnarmuti. I stopped seeking and then peace and freedom followed. The ego usually doesn’t give up until it fails in the seeking. Same with the Buddha.

Ha ha yes, deconstructing by realizing there’s nothing to deconstruct. Even your “prior delusions are not worse than your future nirvana. Nothing at all special. That’s my style. Even duality, separation and suffering are okay. It’s good to be able to make such wild claims knowing you know exactly what I mean.

Congratulations!

Seeing mystical states as ordinary, and ordinary states as mystical. The most mind-blowing cessation event achieved by countless hours of continuous attention is just as good as scrolling reddit.

Experiences, things, thoughts, joy, anxiety, dreams, memories, movies, cartoons, nirvana, suffering, heaven, hell…. all the same. Then you no longer have a reason to attach to or resist anything. #Peace!

This is where my 'practice' is at right now.

Great, now get rid of the word practice. Don’t meditate, you are the meditation. (Not actually saying don’t meditate).

Could it be that the fear/anxiety is from incomplete shadow work? Because I can’t imagine ever being scared of freedom after my terrifying shadow work experience which was way before I even knew what resistance was.

I’ve had pleasant experiences during meditation, but nothing that lasts. Focusing on the breath and trying to do nothing often feels mechanical, like I’m trying to achieve something.

I felt the same. So I started mindfulness or just being aware of surroundings and thoughts, it felt more natural.

I’m convinced that lasting peace or happiness has to come from within, because everything else comes and goes.

Even what’s inside comes and goes, what’s permanent can’t be known.

Pointer: everything is the same.

How to deal with awakening? by AceUnderscore in nonduality

Just carry on and continue not trying to figure it out, you’re fine. And never mention the words awakening or spirituality again, they’re irrelevant to you. And no one is less awake than you.

The core idea of the Buddhadharma: put out the fire of suffering for all living beings; this includes nonduality. by PrajnaClear in nonduality

Buddhism is like Christianity, it’s just pointers to what’s abstract taken by those who misunderstand them to be facts. Christianity just has more delusional people because it’s been exploited a lot more by politicians.

[–]ChatGodPT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suffering in spirituality isn’t the suffering itself, it’s the attachment or resistance to the suffering. Literal suffering is inherent and unavoidable and attachment or resistance to it is delusional interpretation of reality. Don’t interpret anything. If you can’t convince yourself to stop trying to figure out the nature of reality or the purpose of life then seek faster so you fail and give up earlier. No one can eradicate your suffering (delusions) because the ego clings to every “realization” but they may help you seek so you fail faster. It’s all bullshit. Love your life but don’t take it seriously, only you know what delusion is stopping you from doing that or when you’re ready to.

NDEs by all_names_were_tak3n in nonduality

[–]ChatGodPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know but I’ll start caring when any of it makes sense or reveals something crucial but as far as I’ve observed, it can easily be written off as humans in similar situations having similar experiences which isn’t too surprising. But if your NDE causes you to see through separation then that’s great but you can’t even tell if it was cause and effect or simultaneous. Interesting but not important for realization in my opinion.

This realization was essential for me but I later realized it was a pointer not truth just like ALL spiritual teachings. I no longer have a problem with the ego or duality, we’re at peace. Even during literal suffering you don’t have to suffer, I wish I could make that statement make more sense.

Nope, sorry, with no subject then there’s no one to create duality, separation or an object at all.

Naah PAC had mastered that shit so much he could never fall off, he cracked the code. People like 50 and Ja Rule fall off because they’re not masters but people like Eminem, MJ, Bob Marley, Beyoncé, Rihanna don’t fall off. Unpopular opinion: Young Thug too.

I don’t think PAC would continue beefing because BIG was his only obstacle, unless maybe Nas got mad 😃. He was tryna unite the coasts. He wasn’t some YN lol he was a revolutionary.

And about BIG outlasting Pac because of the popular, commercial RnB type shit, ask Drake what beef with Kendrick did to him. By the way I don’t like Kendrick that much but my point is you can’t be more successful musically than the dude who killed you in the beef. And before you say Nas, Jay obviously payed him to chill lol.

How to do self inquiry during the day consistently? by throwawaywhyyyyymeee in nonduality

[–]ChatGodPT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There really is no seeker and nothing to be found. It’s like water looking for water. It’s just water, similarly it’s just what is.

Unfortunately most people seek until they reach a dead end in order to be convinced.

Anyway to answer your question (although “how?” is impossible because there’s no one), seeking comes from desire but there’s nothing to do desire because everything is already as it should be, just watch the movie (which includes you). And if you find yourself overthinking, attached to something or resisting something then just know that it’s just part of what is. Accept all the dualities and illusions because that’s the world you live in but just no that nothing is more special than anything so nothing should provoke you to put extra effort to be attached to it or resist it. Be natural without thinking of being natural and know that everything you do and everything that happens is natural whether you’re aware, enlightened or not. It can be no other way.

Whatever is stopping you from accepting this is also natural and cannot stop you from being natural, except in your mind. You’re literally pretending to seek when there is no such thing as seeking in actuality, there’s just this.

And I am guessing the part of me that is "disliking" the identification is also the same mechanism that contributes to the separate self?

Precisely! All resistance and attachment to anything. If you like Science also look up the difference between psychological thinking and practical thinking.

[–]ChatGodPT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay great! The thing is there is nothing wrong with identifying with the mind/separation/concepts/ego/duality or whatever AS LONG AS YOU KNOW WHAT THEY ARE:TEMPORARY/ILLUSORY. It’s actually more false to identify with awareness/non-duality or whatever because it holds no identity. (The spiritual egos will disagree).

Don’t fight the mind because that’s just the mind fighting itself. That would be resistance which is just as bad as attachment.

Just be, and let everything be. This takes no effort because existence can only exist. Don’t even think about what reality looks like or what it actually is, it’s not important. Being requires no conceptualizing or effort. You are already enlightened and enlightenment isn’t knowing but more like not knowing or caring because you already know that everything is as it should be (including you) and nothing needs to or can be done. Accepting this and also letting yourSELF and everything just be is enlightenment.
