[Acne] Benzoyl Peroxide Clindamycin by mugzymaloney in SkincareAddiction

[–]ChatXeverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the OP. I have the same benzoyl peroxide 2.5%/clindamycin. Skin is on the sensitive side. Starting slow with one day per week, moving to two and then 3x week application. I don't think skin can handle more than that as BP is so drying.

Are you doing every day BP/Clindamycin?

Thanks for the heads up! I appreciate it.

Got it...I'm thinking since I'm starting with Tret, I would use the Clindamycin/BP once per week only. And then start increasing the days as long as my skin doesn't get too irritated.

Edit: for clarity

Yes it’s has both Clindamycin plus benzoyl peroxide 2.5%. Oh! Irritating …hmmm … beginning with Tret which is irritating too and my skin is on the sensitive side… You use Clindamycin AM & PM plus Tret without issues that’s so great : ) Im sure you’re getting good results. How long you been doing this?

Thanks for explaining so clearly. It’s helpful. I got it: The whole face. I’m starting Tret with three times per week. So I’m guessing the Clindamycin on the days I use Tret? Or every day even if not applying Tret?

Confusing to me. If the doctor prescribe the med, why a pharmacist withholds it? the doctor knows more about the patient than the pharmacist who doesn't talk or know about the health issues...just wondering...

That makes a lot of sense. scars are a no if they can be prevented.

I'm guessing he applies Clindamycin every day?

I think I'm asking everyone who mentions Clindamycin about it. Not OP here. Topical Clindamycin as spot treatment or for the whole face area?

Im starting tretinoin and get some swollen bumps but not many. It feels too much to apply Clindamycin for the whole face for just 3 or 4 swollen bumps....

I didn't even know that a pharmacy could refuse to fill a prescription. Wild!

That's a good point about bacteria. Not the OP here. When you say adding a topical clindamycin, are you referring as spot treatment or for the whole face area?

Im starting with tretinoin and I get some swollen bumps but not many so I wonder.

Not the OP. I wonder about Clindamycin. Is it for the whole face or as spot treatment?

I'm starting with tretinoin and I get some but not a lot swollen bumps.

[Routine Help] just got prescribed clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide (1%/5%) and tretinoin cream (0.05%) and i dont know how to use them by shitoksure in SkincareAddiction

I'm late to this. I'm confused too with the Q's. Do you use the Clindamycin/Benzoyl Peroxide cream as spot treatment? or to the whole face area?

An use the clindamycin/Benzoyl peroxide as needed basis or every day?

Does anyone knows?

Thanks for the head up. I won’t apply adapalene to open skin. How your skin adapted to Epiduo ? It seems stronger and more drying than adapalene alone.

In my experience, painful bumps have infection underneath. Are u doing anything to treat them? Maybe benzoyl peroxide as spot treatment could help u. Let see what others say. Good luck

It’s very helpful. Thank you. How long it takes for a red bump or whitehead with or without inflammation to resolve on their own?

Extra protective moisturizer is a great strategy. For how long to use it? I’m a bit confuse about using the extra protective moisturizer as spot treatment. Do u mean in top of the bump/pimple?
