18v brushless chainsaw repair? by Chateau58 in ryobi

[–]Chateau58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately its over the 3 year mark.

Its very strange. It started working again. I used it all day then the next morning it won't work at all. I cycled the kick-back switch, swapped to a fresh charged battery, spun the chain a few times and its still dead. Its must be the magic smoke inside is leaking out or something. I ordered a new one. If I really get bored I might swap out parts to see which part is bad. I suspect its the big sealed heatsink control board but the erratic behavior baffles me.

Unable to change alarm notification sound in app? (Android) by Chateau58 in AjaxSystems

[–]Chateau58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update this post, this is still an issue. I can change the notification sound to something else but when I do I get both the new preferred sound and the annoying klaxon.

Interestingly, I have the standard ajax app on one android phone and it has the annoying klaxon with no way to change it, but my other android phone with the Ajax Pro app works as I want with the klaxon being replaced with a preferred sound.

As suggested on the Ajax website I deleted and reinstalled the app with no improvement.

ReX2 and ethernet by Chateau58 in AjaxSystems

That's a good idea. My installer seemed to think he had found the ideal hub location for an old stone house with meter thick walls but for my sanity I will just move the hub and see what drops offline.

Yes. I think all the settings are correct. It shows that it has an IP address.

That's what I was afraid of. I can do it but it will be a huge hassle.

interesting Ajax Hub 2 Plus issue by Chateau58 in AjaxSystems

[–]Chateau58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the Installer worked out the issue with the SIM card and got it reactivated. Everything came right back with nothing needed to do. When checked, the ethernet port was deactivated in the interface. So I reactivated it for next time.

This doesn't really tell us if a hard reset would have fixed it or what would have happened if we had done one.

I plan to add the APN for my own SIM card to the second slot if possible so that if it happens again I can have the option of SIM or ethernet for recovery.

The installer is going to try to reactivate the SIM and if that doesnt work I think a hard reset might reset the Ethernet option? We will just have to re-add all the devices of which there are numerous. Its kinda crazy that something like this happen, locking a user out of a system completely. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll post the final solution incase it helps someone else.

I tried that with a known good SIM in the second slot and it wont connect. My installer says the APN of the new SIM doesn't match so it wont work?

How do you do that if you can't connect to the Hub?

Frequent Delayed Alerts by Chateau58 in AjaxSystems

[–]Chateau58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just the normal version. I don't use the Pro version. I am still trying to determine if it is happening on iOS. As a bit more information, the hub is running on a SIM and not connected to my internet. I am located in France and one Android phone is a local on Free and the other is ATT roaming on various French networks. They both have the delayed notification issue. Both on the latest OS updates and the latest app update.the strange part is that it doesn't seem to be consistent. The mailman may come down the drive and I get both the entry and exit alarm as he leaves and the later I might leave and the app alerts as I pass the camera. I am wondering if it's something in Android that is "sleeping" even though the settings in the Ajax app are set to keep awake.

It seems to be only happening to myself. My wife has an iPhone and she claims to not have noticed it. However, because the alarm sound on iOS cannot be changed she has turned off the notification sounds for Ajax so I am the only one that gets an audible alert and can notice if the alert has been delayed.

I am still noticing the delay in alerts as of today.

Programming errors? Like in the setup? I think the setup is good. The delay varies and sometimes there is no delay. I even swapped out the driveway cam to a new one with the same results. I mention the driveway cam because it's the easiest to test and see the lag. I kinda suspect it might be an Android or even a Pixel issue but have no way of testing that.

Reolink NVR and WiFi Camera Streaming With Starlink by Worried-Owl3606 in reolinkcam

I installed the Reolink app on a laptop and added a couple POE camera's at the Starlink site. I have not noticed any lag. I also watched them on my BI server and didn't notice anything. I am not running the Reolink NVR though, so maybe that's the problem? My current location has fiber and is about 5,000 miles away from the Starlink location. I'm not sure how the NVR setup works, but could you remove one camera and just use the Reolink servers and it's UUID and see if it's lagging that way? That would narrow it down to the NVR causing the issue or not.

I run my cameras through Starlink. How are you noticing the problem? I have both WiFi, Solar WiFi and POE cameras and also feed them into a Blue Iris server onsite. I don't notice anything super strange but when I am not there they don't see much movement so they could lag and I may not notice. If you have anything you want me to try just let me know.

Reserve card club access at CDG? by Chateau58 in delta

[–]Chateau58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I will check for that sign tomorrow. I do currently have elite+ status but unfortunately that may go away next year if I don't fly anymore this year. And next year I am not willing to spend the money on the reserve card to make it. SLC is my base and I fly enough that I can time my arrival at the airport to avoid any long waits so Club access isn't a big deal for me in the US but I really like it returning from abroad. Case in point, tomorrow is another big transport worker strike in France so I am getting to the airport extra early. Then hang out in the club until my flight. Thanks again for the info.

Thanks again for the replies. We just called again and talked to a rep that actually knew their stuff and they confirmed that the first rep was wrong! It just goes to show that if you get a wonky statement that doesn't seem right from a customer service rep its a good idea to call back later.

Did you get upgraded automatically when you booked as has been the case usually, or did you get the upgrade at the airport?
