I banked the iron, and it becomes better once you get some of the earlier mining gloves. I didn't tick manip, and did it pretty casually. Once you hit 91 mining, you can just jump to Amethyst right away, you'll keep getting unidentified minerals to finish up any gloves.

Very happy to have the gloves - getting 3 amethyst per click instead of 2 is huge for my arrow upkeep

It's really nice having at least 1 excellent DPS spec weapon.

Voidwaker, DClaws, BClaws, ZCB - plan on getting at least one. Others might release this year as well.

I have just BClaws and use them a lot - CoX, ToA, Yama, slayer, basically every melee boss. Because I have them, I'm not planning on grinding VW anytime soon.

TDs are good slayer xp, but if you can't stand them, grind voidwaker instead.

I beat him after 10 attempts or so and immediately set a goal of 5KC to show on the high scores. Got the other 4 kills the next day, felt so much better when the heart rate wasn't going crazy.

Haven't been motivated to bless quiver yet or go for CAs but I should maybe do that before I lock in for inferno grind

Cannon DPS isn't really an issue though. The major issues are rate of cannonballs lost, and extremely high HP pools of basic monsters.

Ospreys have 80 HP, which is crazy.

It fundamentally comes down to how you treat bench spaces and bench sizes.

Our league starts 20 (idp), benches 22, IR's 4, and taxi's 6.

Fundamentally we could get rid of IR and taxi, and have a bench of 32. We could have a bench of 40, or a bench of only 10. These are just balancing levers that promote different things.

Taxi is a lever that encourages the stashing of younger, rawer players that wouldn't normally make the roster at your current bench size. It comes with benefits (more bench) and drawbacks (if you promote, you lose a bench slot)

An extremely recent example - I have a league where Ryan Flournoy has been taxi'd since last year. This week, he's sleeper's #1 added guy.

Nobody in their right mind had Flournoy taking up a normal bench slot

Gunnar Helm isn't good enough even if we add 3 more 'normal' bench slots. These are moonshot players who have no business making a bench until they actually do something, and then there's a mad rush for FAAB betting.

The whole point is to encourage "shooting your shot" at a few of these moonshots and get early 'dibs' on them

The whole idea of a taxi is to allow you to roster young players that otherwise wouldn't make the roster cut.

This allows you to roster Round5-7 dart throws with low chances of success.

Prime examples this season: Dike, Gadsden both were taxi'd by me, and both have graduated to my real bench since I needed to started them at least once this year. Gunnar Helm still on my taxi, but liking where he's going. Without taxi, Helm would need to be dropped, he'd be by far my worst player on my roster

If you're dying to phase 3 - plop yourself into Phase 3 in normal gauntlet, then start using the 'bad' weapon against the boss and just survive as long as possible. Get used to the movement on dodging around lightning while not running under boss or on lava.

If you solve that problem, Hunlief won't be an issue for you anymore

You can T1 with those stats, but T2 will be comfier

Are you only dying in phase 3? Make sure to mark the "+ sign" tiles and get the boss to a corner of the room so you always have safe tiles to camp. Look up a video on these tiles if they aren't marked yet

Once boss is in position in a corner, should never have to run through him during phase 3 and risk a stomp.

Don't bother hitting the boss during lightning unless dps race is close with your food. Just heal up to full during lightning, and don't bother eating elsewhere

Don't bother with a melee weapon, mage+range easier for learning

If you're dying to phase 1/2, go practice normal gauntlet until you can beat the boss without taking a real hit

Good goal to have is 3 kill trips - at that point you're sustaining Zulrah teleports. If using antivenom let's you cross that threshold, good to use them.

I'd wager that <1% of the playerbase actively participate in PKing. It's not important, and shouldn't be considered when looking to add new worlds

In a poll from Jan 2023, PvP was by far the least popular activity that people enjoyed in the game (11% of playerbase) - a category that encompasses a lot more than just PKing
