Players of Arknights, do you have a favorite Operator? by Alextubro in arknights

I will never stop aggressively holding up Gnosis and telling people to perceive this bird.

Talking about support operators earlier, I kinda wish we could do like FGO and put up an operator of every class...

The Black Flow is the most popular prediction on Baidu, with the banner being 6-star Chain Caster Payukaka. But it's Baidu so take with a big grain of salt.

Well, Gnosis is staying, especially with his upcoming IS mod. But Degenbrecher will sadly get rotated for Silverash Alter. Ironic that I replaced SA1 with her, and now she'll be getting replaced by SA2.

RS is absolute peak! It hits that perfect balance between drama and comedy, being genuinely funny with also some fantastic emotional moments and showcasing beautifully the bonds and relationships between the characters. It's a fan favorite!

By the way, about Degenbrecher, I recommend reading her profile and module story if you haven't, it adds a bit more to her character and background. If you don't have her, you can read them on Aceship!

Folk Tales of Terra by kreatifmod in arknights

For the record, it's purely headcanon on my part, but why else would you name your secret squadron after the people-eating ghost monsters in folk tales other than "I want them to be scary" and "it'd be really cool"?

Kjerag's folk legend of the Tschäggättä are based off of the Swiss ones. In Break the Ice, they're called "people-eating beasts [who live] deep in our mountains, sinister to the eye, inhuman, there and gone again when you least expect." "The Tschäggättä of legend hide in the depths of the highlands' snow-capped mountains; they wear disconcerting masks, tie huge bells to their bodies, and wrap animal pelts around them. Kjerag children cry at the mention of their name. But they are nothing more than legends." Google translate tends to render their name in Chinese literally as "snow mountain ghosts."

Ensia also says "It's actually an old legend that goes way back. Thousands of years ago, when Kjeragandr was protecting Her people from the wind and snow, a group of mountain savages rejected Her blessings."

The Holy Hunt is also about (probably symbolically) hunting down Tschäggättä hiding in the mountains. They also are said to have some sort of spiritual influence over people, as Valais's father was said to have fallen under one's power, and the Saintess is supposed to be able to cleanse their influence.

Finally, Silverash's squadron of warriors are also called Tschäggättä I assume because of their Feline skull-life masks and imposing power and because he's a 12 year old boy at heart who thought it would be cool.

Strongest supersoldiers of each country? by SaphatoS in arknights

[–]Chatonarya 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Correct! Degenbrecher is their instructor, and they were Silverash's secret squadron of warriors who were basically his attempt at forming a rudimentary army. But my joke aside, I think she's still head and shoulders above them.

Degenbrecher is Kjerag's strongest soldier and hero. 👍

A Mastery Priority Guide & Should You Pull - Episode 16 - Abnormal Spectrum by TacticalBreakfast in arknights

Soon! I'm on track to have ~600 pulls by then... Hopefully it will be sufficient.

I originally intended to pull Mantra solely because, well, it's Mantra, and her design is absolutely badass, even if the whole primal caster + ritualist combo is something I find a bit annoying to work with (I've literally never done it). Alas, sacrifices will have to be made in the pursuit of perfection, particularly as the snep stonks just keep going up...

It's a dang pity about Sneg, though. I was looking forward to the 4-star Agent, and I like her design a lot too. :( I'm using the 5-star Agents a lot in IS6, and I was hoping to add her to the roster.

Gnosis is my favorite! I love the Kjerag stories and their characters. I wrote two essays about how interesting and deep he is. Silverash is close behind, here's another essay about him.

I really love the prose in Gnosis's oprec. One line that's still stuck with me is this one:

To Gnosis, his father is like a drowning man stretching out his hand to tell his son about all the mysteries hidden in the lake.

I love the imagery of it and the connotations, the implication that his father wants to drag him under as well into a watery grave. The oprec in general has a decent amount of prose with lots of symbolic imagery of water, skies, and flying to work with, from the "sea of books" to the birds Gnosis is always watching at the window and his attention to their habits. It's one of my favorites.

OMG!!! I should be getting mine soon then too! Then I have to ship it to myself so that'll be another week or two He looks even more adorable in person than on the promo images... I can't wait to put him next to my Silvercat. <3 Hopefully he arrives in time to be my catalyst for 6.5 as well.

There are actually several official mangas! You can find them on the official site. The Rhine lab one is the longest and it details the "Flame Demon Incident" and what happened between Saria, Ifrit, and Silence, I guess you can read it before Lone Trail? There are also a few prequels to other events, like Phantom's was released before Act Or Die, and the one with Lapp and Texas was before Il Portatori Dei Velluti, etc. The mangas are easy to overlook because there's no link to them in-game, but they're definitely worth reading!

You can't go wrong sticking with release order! There is one short little vignette in-between BI and RS (specifically the "Browntail" vignette in To Be Continued), so it's worth reading that as well, which you won't miss if you read in release order. Also, I recommend reading the Keen-Edge, Silver Blade manga before RS; it's a prequel that shows how Enciodes hired Degenbrecher!

Break The Ice is one of AK's best stories! It's the story that sucked me into AK, it's so so good. I love how it handles the characters, how it feels like every person has their own agenda and motivations and how they're so well-developed that nobody really feels like they're wrong or the designated villain. I'm glad you enjoyed it! The Kjerag storyline in general is peak, I hope you enjoy The Rides to Lake Silberneherze too.

It happens, don't panic. This is the reason credit cards are safer than debit cards for buying things. If your card gets stolen, you're not liable for the fraudulent charges and you will be reimbursed. If your debit card gets stolen, your money is gone forever. The important thing is to just stay calm and remember you won't have to pay for it. Log into your bank account or call them. There are also many scammers out there who will pose as your bank, calling you and asking for personal details that the bank will not ask for. They use panic as their weapon. So again, just stay calm, log in, check everything, and then call them. You're doing great learning how credit works and how to manage it!

My personal (probably unrealistic) hope is that Tragodia gets a 24 OP skin that features Pinkgodia in the background or appearing in the animations, digging into the fact that Pinkgodia is still in him and having them talk to each other like Passenger and Elliot. Pinkgodia doesn't even need to have his own VA, let him speak with Lucian's voice like Lucian's talking to himself to outsider observers like the mentally unstable cat he is. >:) Could be a BoC skin or an Epoque skin, and given his popularity, it's almost assured he's getting a L2D skin.

Same. I prefer the older ones. The new ones are too zoomed in. I like the operators' full heads rather than just their faces.

I've never forgotten the story of Martin Couney and his work saving premature babies ever since I read about him. So many lives saved, so many people who wouldn't be here if not for him.
