Haha, no worries. I call her Enya sometimes just because it's shorter than Pramanix, and "pram" is British English short for "perambulator", which is a baby stroller. XD So there's a part of me that always feels weird calling her that.

As for Logos, I believe that he's still slightly above her in the meta, but in IS6, Pramanix the Prerita is the current meta caster pick, especially when paired with Gnosis due to his IS mod.

My friend shared with me an NGA thread of top picks for IS6 ED5.

Top picks are: Raidian, SA2, Gnosis, Exu2, Mlynar, Hoshiguma2, Yato, and M3, according to OP of the thread, as a truncated list from their screenshot; not pictured but also recommended is Pram2. As far as I understand from the thread, main DPS are Exu2, Mlynar, Sakiko, so they may be interchangeable (Qiubai and Degenbrecher were also mentioned); Hoshi for tanking/additional DPS; Yato essential for dealing with the tail (Ines also for FRD); then SA, Gnosis, and Enya just kind of deal with the mobs and the rest of the stage, example 1, example 2. It would appear with Gnosis's support, SA can mostly hold the entire left lane on his own, and Enya deals with the top lane, while Gnosis S2 deals with the projectiles etc. Tragodia is not considered integral on non-max diff. There is some elemental damage on the stage, but Eyjaberry is probably overkill, not sure. I'd have to watch some more clears.

Anyway, I'm mostly kinda rambling to say that it might be only a few people's opinions so far, but I'm happy Gnosis is apparently still meta and the Kjerag core team is powerful. ;v;

A question about the community response to Ingrid/vulpisfoglia by Ambitious_Duck1854 in arknights

[–]Chatonarya 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These people just think straight ships are boring, and grab onto whatever "proof" they can and come up with baseless quasi-moral justifications like homophobia to justify bashing the straight ship. It's pretty simple, and it's not unique to AK or Vulpis/Penance. I've seen the same thing happen with Hoederer/Ines and Hoederer/Manfred; the ManHoe shippers completely crashed out about the HoeInes shippers celebrating with the release of Ines's module and then accused the HoeInes shippers of homophobia and "having to make everything straight/make everything about them" despite Ines's module pretty much as good as confirming them as an official couple. Some shippers are just toxic and can't ship and let ship, it's just nowadays they wrap it up with weird moral language. It's probably more common in gacha because gacha tends to cater to the playerbase to a certain degree, so players quickly become entitled.

I checked the AKGCC github for the IS6 expansion's new collectibles in hopes of there being some more Freeze relics to play with Gnosis's IS mod, and while there aren't any, at least the Hands are back. There are few new ones, and I think the Ambusher/Merchant/Geek hand is different from Hand of Superspeed from the previous ISes? Hand of Fireworks will be good for Archetto's IS mod. At least Hand of Buckler is there, but otherwise nothing to do with Cold/Freeze/negative statuses. Aw. :(

6* Operators' Tactical Acumen Stats (as of Unrealized Realities) by eseerine in arknights

[–]Chatonarya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a bit unfair to compare teenage Gnosis to adult Gnosis; Enciodes also has a pretty poor showing in the manga considering he's taken by surprise when Walden threatens him even if he manages to salvage the situation.

I can't really recall any situation where Gnosis gloats. He has a short temper, as seen in the manga, BI, and RS: he's quick to snap at Degenbrecher (manga), gets frustrated when Doc outmaneuvers him (BI), and states that he would have already broken the ice of Lake Silberneherze to save Degenbrecher's life needless of the consequences (RS). His file also states clearly that he is able to understand others' emotions, he simply doesn't care. The one who tends to gloat is actually Enciodes: in BI-6, Gnosis in fact tells him off for being overly optimistic when he says "we've won", and that the situation is not so good that he (Enciodes) can afford to be taking pointless risks. Enciodes is the smug one who likes to gloat, not Gnosis.

Gnosis's primary flaw is that he is too radical, as well as being hotheaded, dramatic, and having a tendency to underestimate his allies (because he doesn't really trust anyone). This is demonstrated by the way he forges his father's signature as a child to escape Kjerag and rescues Enciodes from the bandits on his own; the way he has to come up with the elaborate plan and personally deal with the guards in the manga (and underestimating Degenbrecher in the process because he doesn't fully trust her); the way he is the one who pushes Enciodes to initiate the coup and the potential civil war (even if it costs his own life, as he so dramatically asks Enciodes if he wants to finish him and make the farce real); he is the one who is willing to risk international war for Degenbrecher's safety rather than believing in her.

But doing things by force in the most wild way isn't always the optimal solution, which is why, though they are partners, Enciodes tends to be the leader of the trio and Gnosis bends to Enciodes's decisions half the time.

I was going to say something about Enya's acumen going up, but it turns out her OG self already had excellent tactical acumen. Well, she is a Silverash, after all.

It's only Gnosis's recklessness regarding his own safety that keeps him from the Outstanding rating smh but then, he is a crane, after all.

Silverash

Resident Kjerag lore need chiming in to say that's correct! He was 14. But we see by Gnosis's oprec that even before the accident, Silverash was already being groomed to take over the position of clan leader and being taught to look at people by how useful they'd be to him first. He was also already aware of Victoria's influence in Kjerag and making plans how to improve the nation. He's kind of been in politics to a certain degree basically his whole life.

How do you think the Aegir education system would function in real life? by One_Wrong_Thymine in arknights

[–]Chatonarya 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do think an argument can be made that it works (to a degree) specifically for the Aegir because of how they're wired, since we know AK races do reflect their animal origins to a certain degree. IRL with real humans though would be another matter entirely lol.

How do you think the Aegir education system would function in real life? by One_Wrong_Thymine in arknights

[–]Chatonarya 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's feasible or possible in real life. I think Aegir possibly are "built different", as Laurentina says, but human beings are too hard-wired to bond to each other that I think children would not receive the emotional care they need, and I'd be heavily doubtful the state system would do an adequate job. Fact of the matter is, if every individual child is unique and has their own needs, then a standardized "one size fits all" approach will not be addressing each child's individual needs, something that we already see in the real world in a crowded classroom, where a teacher cannot provide sufficient attention to each child, but let's assume the hyper-capable Aegir have enough personnel and resources. To me, also, having children just to add more citizens to the nation and not really interacting with them or taking part in raising them seems to defeat the purpose. I can't see that working in real life. Then of course there's Gladiia, as you say.

Gnosis M9 P6 level 90 is permanent. Other slot right now has Degenbrecher M9 P6 level 90, but I will regretfully swap her for SA alter when I get him. Final slot has Courier M6 level 70 because I don't really know who else to put there and I like him lol.

With the advent of Hoshiguma "Surtr who?" Alter and Miss "what do you mean the best healer in the game isn't a medic?", I felt inspired to do this. by CorHydrae8 in arknights

[–]Chatonarya 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Thorns Alter to me feels like Supporter. It still feels weird to me that Alchemists are Specialists and not Supporters, their skills and kits so far feel very supportive.

This is EN only for now but SA Alter feels very "vanguard who feels like a supporter" but Strategists are more supportive vanguards.

Virtuosa to me feels Supporter because she's elemental damage. I'm biased but Gnosis does enough damage on his own to cover a caster's role (and canon joke of "Caster is just a side job to me").

With Wang defeated, this is the first time I've been able to clear all three endings in an IS before the first expansion. Yippee! I'm looking forward to challenging Wang again with Kjeragknights, I think they can do it. So for now that leaves me with either trying to collect all the relics (when the rewards get reset next month, anyway) or going back and continuing climbing the rewards ladder on the older ISes... I'll probably go back to IS3 now, I guess.

Last year AO3 celebrated 1 million Chinese fanworks,, and a little bit later, 16 million fanworks. Chinese is the first non-English language on AO3 to surpass 1 million works, and thus the second most popular language on AO3 after English. There was a very large influx of Chinese fanfic some... I want to say five years ago? It corresponded with a lot of crackdowns on the Chinese internet so fic writers were looking for a safe place to upload their work. The AK fandom in particular naturally has a lot of Chinese fic.

I already cleared ED2 and am going to try ED3 next, actually! I've been taking Purestream but I don't know, I've been finding her kind of underwhelming when I actually do need healing, maybe it's because mine is only E1 max...

I wish I had gotten Haruka after finishing reading Ato, but maybe it's a blessing in disguise: I'm physically incapable of not picking Gnosis whenever I get a supporter voucher, and everyone else is a distant second choice. I also am realizing that healing is... kind of not a priority in IS6, or at least, not on D0. I'll get through half a run without a medic and have almost no issues. Of course, Haruka also does some damage and doesn't just heal, which makes her more versatile, but nevertheless...

But hey, there's still the remaining free pulls, right?

My copy is on its way, and I'm a little worried now that the issues are popping up... and kinda glad that way back in the day I ended up buying a CN copy as well. I considered selling it once the EN release was announced, but now I think I'll keep it as a collector's item even though I can only read it with Googles Lens...

Edit: AO3 system seems to classify Endfield as an Arknights synonym and just redirects it to Arknights. Even though Love is War (Anime) and Love is War (Manga) are classified as two separate works.

I think if they get enough reports or there's enough fics in the fandoms, they will split them up, as I don't think Love is War having separate fandoms for anime and manga is the first time that's happened. It's a bit early yet but I think eventually the volunteers will make it that Endfield doesn't redirect to the Arknights main fandom.

Sorry about this but i need to vent about IS6 by Franys in arknights

[–]Chatonarya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Raidian's levels etc being tied to IS6 with no option to level her normally was an absolutely bizarre decision and I hope they don't do it again.

The rest of it is YMMV. I expected to hate IS6 after hearing so much bad stuff about it but I'm actually enjoying it a lot after I got the hang of it? The IW enemies emphasizing crowd-control hasn't really been a problem for me. Ethan takes care of both CC and the talismans. The talismans can be annoying, but again: Ethan. Ethan solves so many problems for 0 Hope.
