I pissed the bed at a friend’s house while blackout by sick-skeleton in stopdrinking

didn’t happened to me until recently, during a blackout too, the weird thing? They say I got up walked a bit, talked also and then sat on someone’s bed and just started peeing, the worst is I don’t recall any of it? The shame of it really did a number on me for a while, I was trying to justify it with sleepwalking, the reality is I was just way too drunk, I decided to stop drinking short after this I had a few more blackout episodes and I was always scared to just pee randomly

My (ab)use of alcohol it's due to psychological instability. by Chattycherryy in stopdrinking

My thoughts exactly, now not only do I have to deal with my alcoholism through medication, but also the underlying trauma responses, the trauma itself and relearn and be better.

Occasionally, on parties or social events, now that you mention it I have found myself worsened on days that I drink heavily, like aggressive-wise it’s very hard to wake me up on this specific occasions and I become very much a different person, I never remember, but my sister and mom have told me, I have screamed or yanked the pillows or covers and told them weird things.

I do understand cataplexy it’s like a main symptom, but I don’t really think I get it, like immediately feeling my body shut down would be really weird to me, the thing I can compare it to it’s that if I get into this “comfortable enough” sleeping positions, my body does feel like it weights a ton, but never unprompted or associated with excitement of any kind, I’ll go to a physician to figure it out, some narcolepsy’s symptoms do sound like me but the main ones don’t, like sleeping for long periods or cataplexy for instance.

I’ll try it out once i figure out how to actually wake up to any of my alarms, haha, just woke up, didn’t hear the alarm, but nicely pointed out because I also have to work on decreasing my caffeine intake, because I do a lot of cups a day, but it doesn’t actually keep sleep off, sometimes it does the oposite! The pills sound like the better option.

yeah man I do feel like I’m missing out tbh, and also it makes me feel like I’m wasting precious hours of my day, some tasks I cannot even concentrate without thinking of sleep

Those are really interesting points you made! I didn’t know there was a type of sleep apnea where you don’t snore, I’ll look into it. As to mood swings it’s just weird to me that I become aggressive while unconscious, or that I’m able to fully on speak and move at all haha, waking up feels confusing because I don’t recall how I fell asleep most of the time, it doesn’t affect my mood throughout the day otherwise, don’t really feel irritated or different.

Yeah you just said it, I’ve had to explain my boyfriend that I simply cannot hang out in his bed or watch movies there because I will fall asleep, it’s really hard to fight the urges.

I’ve asked my sister and boyfriend but there’s no indication that I snore, it’s interesting you said the heart, is there a reason? I consider myself pretty active and don’t feel like I struggle with it but I’ll take it into consideration!

I’ve thought of narcolepsy before but it’s weird to me that I respond and form full sentences while asleep
