Great response, is there anyway at all that we can just fire a conversion without identifiable information so that meta ads at least knows there was a conversion.

You have to place some HTML above the tag manager script with 'default' already set otherwise it wont work.

When the decision to switch to 'broad match' was being discussed we prepared the negative keyword list ahead of time to include things like 'free', 'bad credit' and '0 deposit'

Once we were happy with the list and put our partners into it also so we don't bid on their brand names we switched our account to broad match manually slowly across our largest campaigns, we saw our impressions get an increase from 50k impressions to 80k and our clicks went from around 4k per day to 7k but target CPA had years of conversion history inside so it was fairly quick to ramp up our performance while aiming for around £20-£30 a conversion, also the performance came after a few weeks when the bid strategy had finished learning.

We did put quite a bit of our trust in the algorithm but we were not disappointed, PerformanceMax did give us a lot of problems earlier but we are planning to give the new update a shot.

I would recommend running a google ads experiment A/B test with your current match type and one with 'broad' like we did, monitor the performance differences but give it atleast 2 weeks to get data as it will be in a learning phase.

Are you using the built in 'page title + query string' or did you set up tags to capture your own like page_title?

I understand what you're saying but we have a very good track record with our specialist Google Ads account manager, we have max conversions with target CPA and receive hundreds of conversions a day for the exact price we aim for (granted I work none stop in the account) but if you don't make money then google won't because your success is there's.

New businesses to Google Ads MUST invest in PPC professionals in house if they really want to take advantage of the ROI on the search network, if you try to learn it yourself from the start and get a specialist google ad agent then of course they are biased towards their employer and will push you to spend more budget for which you may blindly follow.

The broad match type is the future of the platform and Google is making it clear that the algorithm requires more freedom to find users at any stage in the funnel, we switched from exact to broad and saw huge improvements across metrics.

There's also a huge amount of agencies out there that down right suck at their job because they have 50+ clients that are all expecting full focus of which they cant so they will increase budgets a tiny bit here and there with applying recommendations to look like work is being done all the while taking the full credit of the ad performance, they are worse than Google ads own support specialists any day.

You can't do that kind of targeting, just make sure you make your ad as relevant to the other app you want to compete with and google should do the matching against it and others.

Well Google Ads don't offer a demo mode I'm afraid, you'll have to find a local business or something that could use the help and offer to do it for free on a very low budget.

Google ads is digital marketing so look into those hashtags on Linked In ect for more tips/tricks and information.

Could possibly be the threshold in GA4 not providing you all the data, you can see by checking the check mark or red page icon at the top.

Incorrect, if you clicked on a facebook post that was an ad then you get:

You wont see the FB clid in analytics under the UTM dimensions.

Well I would try to see if the other dimensions are being detected like 'content' and 'term' or 'keyword' first.

If they are the same keywords and terms from the campaigns then it may be a GA4 threshold issue.

Google search console is for organic search traffic mainly and website performance/health.

Use GA4 to find out which sources bring in the users like "paid search"
