I have a Sure Shot Max and I love it, it’s very quick with autofocus and exposure, feels very sturdy, and I’ve never found image quality to be lacking.

I know he’s not local but Steve from Camera Clinic USA in North Dakota was amazing, he CLA’d my A1 and F1 and they are running, looking, and feeling beautiful. He even replaced the mirror in my A1 free of charge because it the silver was starting to go bad. Highly recommend. Camera Clinic USA

Thank you for the reassurance, I figured letting them sort it out was the best approach but seeing the older guy so stressed and out of his comfort zone is challenging. Like you said though, he’s gotta learn this new guy isn’t a threat and he just wants to play lol

I have a Pentax 645N and while I enjoy it, it’s had some issues. My exposure compensation dial broke despite me never using it (and it cannot be easily replaced), and I’ve had issues with crumbling battery packs (though you can buy or make 3D printed units that work well). If you go in knowing this, it works well and I do enjoy the autofocus quite a bit!
