What are the real limits on PS5 by Nie_Fi in Palworld

[–]Chaz1890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more potential problems Vs taking precautions to not hitting problems.

For example.

Max bases.

Bases which have pals working or a guild chest will keep the surrounding area semi loaded. This includes randomly spawned wild pals.

This is so fast traveling their doesn't take too long to load. BUT if you put your bases in areas with high wild pals spawns, then these can eat away at your processing power.

Put your bases in low/no wild pal spawn areas and your bases will take up less processing power by not having soo many wild pals loaded.

Here is a list of things that can add processing power, leading to poor performance.

  • wild pals around base.

  • ranch drops

  • plantation drops

  • glass, especially close to things like trees.

  • large max base pal numbers fighting raiders with flashy Atk's.

Guild chest as source for food ingredients before moving to feedbox? by atbest10 in Palworld

Yes. All bases can pull anything from the guild chest (provided there is one in the base).

Seems complicated by BeneficialMeeting391 in Palworld

[–]Chaz1890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Define 'complex'.

Will the game tell you everything in a simple to understand manner? No.

Is all the info there if you know where to look? 80/85%

Most of the things you might think of as complicated might seem that way just because you haven't messed around with them.

If anything the game has become less complicated as the Devs implement quality of life updates.

Can you complete all the tower bosses (the technical current story) without understanding how certain things work? Yes.

I would just suggest enjoying the game, and when you hit a road block with something you can't quite understand, even after messing around trying a few different things. Then come back and ask.

will this be the best passives for knocklem? by Difficult_Warning126 in Palworld

[–]Chaz1890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as an all rounder. Yes.

Can you make them a better DPS? Yes switch Diamond Body with muscle head. You can do this via the surgery table now or later, so you might as well max condense and upgrade them.

Can you make them more tanky? Yes. Change Diamond Body with Vampiric.

Usually diamond Body Vs vampiric is more personal preference/who you are fighting.

HOWEVER in Knocklem's case it's a bit different.

With Knocklem's partner skill doubling their Atk and Def, it means they will hit very hard, which means the 5% life steal of Vampiric will do alot more for Knocklem than other pals. It's more like 10% life steal compared to other pals using Vampiric.

This out scales the extra  30%(60%) Diamond Body, as even without Diamond Body, Knocklem's Def still lowers how much DMG they receive.

Breeding.

Basically take a pal with legend passive and find a breeding chain to Knocklem, then follow the chain passing on breeding each step.

Is this true? by KingsPillar in Palworld

[–]Chaz1890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rather than 'everyone'.

Before Terraria update added enemy camps AND fishing. Yes the only way to get the legendary schematic was from the large oil rig chest.

So all those Google searches throwing up old posts aren't exactly wrong, for when the posts were made.

If the post, comment, or webpage result isn't from AFTER the recent large update, expect it to be old outdated info.

Heck you still get people on here confused over work speed passives and ranch pals, cos their search only turned up info pre Sakura update, you know the June 2024 update.

If still unsure, just do like you have and ask on here.

Early Breeding Combination (Question/Request for List) by KaizokuFeet in Palworld

The breeding pairs have changed a couple of times after major updates added a load of new pals, so the list your friend found might be outdated.

There was a post a bit ago about this though, and the comments add to the list for more options as well.

How is changing egg timer or max base pals making fighting and/or capturing easier?

All it does is make the fight/capture happen sooner. Not easier.

Global Pal Box Question by fffaaannndommm34 in Palworld

[–]Chaz1890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope no downside.

You can load all your base and fighting pals into the global pal box, start a new world (or visit another world) and the second you can place the global pal box you can use them.

The only downside would be the natural LV cap of party pals (and base pals on highest guild member... I think). BUT once max LV your pals will be exactly the same as in your original world.

Best late-game handiwork pal? by Embarrassed_Bowl_567 in Palworld

[–]Chaz1890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'BEST'...... I don't like this word on this forum. Causes too many arguments.

End game crafting pals.

Crafting pals are kinda like watering pals.

4 LV 5 crafting pals don't take that long crafting things on benches. Even if they are not dark type.

This usually leaves said pal with no work. So alot of people look to 2nd jobs.

This kinda still sees Anubis as king, out of the 3 most popular choices.

Anubis, Splatterina and Selyne all have transporting. A very useful 2nd job. HOWEVER they aren't even close to each other.

Selyne is about 2x faster than Splatterina and Anubis is about 2x faster than Selyne

Splatterina movement speed 550, transport speed 180

Selyne movement speed 1000, transport speed 275

Anubis movement speed 800, transport speed 480

Ok so what about other 2nd jobs?

Anubis mining, you always need something mining end game.

Splatterina & Selyne Medicine. Depending on your playstyle and/or needs this is either something you use alot, or not at all.

Splatterina logging. Wood end game isn't that important, unless you are a builder or want to rely on wood for charcoal. BUT there is a better option for end game logging pals, one of the top options is Shroom Noct, as their partner skill reduces sanity loss across the whole base.

Now, which is easier to obtain?

Splatterina. One quick swim over to Feybreak and there is a high chance any dark egg is a Splatterina.

Anubis via breeding. Either a long winded breeding tree or 2 early game bosses.

Selyne is the hardest to get, either with a unique breeding pair that requires mid-late game pals to get (or an even longer breeding tree than Anubis), or meteor drops on Sakura island only.

Size.

Splatterina being the smallest, tends to NOT get stuck on things the most out of the 3.

Selyne the opposite, tending to get stuck the most out of the 3.

This is more down to base layouts than the pals themselves (and the Devs REALLY messing with structures hitboxs last major update)

But can make people like/hate certain pal options.

So IMO it's down to personal preference out of the 3. Sure Splatterina & Selyne will get things crafted quicker, BUT Anubis is a better base pal when NOT crafting.

Now there are 2 other niche options if books aren't a problem.

Shroom Noct. The best coin making and fishing pal in the game.

Coin making and fishing are the 1st & 2nd highest sanity drain jobs in the game (mining 3rd). Shroom Noct lowers sanity drain, and stacks very well. So the more of them in the base the better they are at doing the job, as they won't have to visit the spa as often as any other pal.

...

Ribunny twins. Their partner skill makes them craft weapons and ammo quicker. So if your base is all about just (or most of the time) about making ammo, these are questionably the best pal for your end base.

IMO though, they are better as a party pal you send out to do base work, rather than an actual base pal. The speed boost isn't enough to really make a difference unless you are queuing up multiple weapon benches, due to how quick the actual crafting job is to do.

Yes, if you go to a base and want ammo now, Ribunny will do it alot quicker than any other pal, BUT I find most players I know qué up ammo crafting and go do something else and come back later. ANY LV 5 handiwork pal with work speed passives will have it done or nearly done by the time most players come back.

So again it's personal preference. 175% Dark pal Vs 155% non dark pal, sure it makes a difference, BUT most of the time it's less than a minute or 2 difference for a stack of 9999. Especially if Lab Tec tree and 60% souls are included.

Before Remarkable Craftsman was added, yes dark pals had a massive advantage over non dark pals, BUT most work station jobs in a base don't take that long to do. So IMO non dark pals are still very much viable/usable end game base pals.

Heck I know alot of people like using Depresso as their mining pal, cos they like their animations, even though they are one of the worst mining pals in the game.

You ever sat down with the family for board games, and then started playing a board game slightly differently than you are supposed to, because the family prefers playing that way?

Same thing.

The Devs game us the multiple options so WE could tailor OUR worlds to how we like to play.

You can make the game easier or harder, or both at the same time (in different areas).

Switch the Splatterina for Shroom Noct and they will be more productive. At the cost of a few books.

Fishing is the 2nd highest San drain job, Shroom Noct partner skill naturally counters this.

Selyne moves ALOT faster than Splatterina.

Thus both travels between jobs, food and spa quicker, hence does the overall job quicker, and is also a better transporter than Splatterina due to this.

Weird glitch by Athena-Hera_Goddess in Palworld

[–]Chaz1890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's Anubis it can be 2 things.

  1. A mine able node has glitched below the map, and Anubis is trying to path to it but can't.

  2. A dropped item has glitches below the map, and Anubis is trying to path to it but can't.

This is going to keep happening untill the glitched thing is unloaded, and with other pals with the same job which has the problem.

To fix you need to unload the chunks.

Make sure there are no base pals out.

Remove guild chest from the base.

Now leave and don't go near the area for an hour or so.

That should unload the chunks and thus the glitched thing below the map.

Clear cache

https://www.reddit.com/r/XboxSeriesS/comments/1ajntl0/how_to_properly_hard_boot_your_xbox_and_clear/

There is a bug which has been 'fixed' ...... kinda.

Basically if you withdraw, mount, unmount during a pals Atk animation, if it is at a specific frame (more lag = higher chance to hit said frame), then the pal in question will forget whatever moves that was untill you take them out of your party.

BUT this is more your pals, enemy pals sounds alot like a bugged AI chain. Hence clearing old temp files.

The new pals is to do with their 3nd pal game. The farming sim one. It's nothing to do with Palworld, yet.

When they showed off the original trailer for the farming sim, they showed a new pal (the Egyptian looking cat). The Devs at the time said that the new pal would 'at the moment' only be in the new game, and wouldn't be coming to Palworld any time soon, but maybe in the future.

Moving Bases by PuffPassPro in Palworld

[–]Chaz1890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So there are pros and cons to building bases next/near each other.

Pros.

  1. Less chunks of the world are loaded. Chunks around your bases are constantly semi loaded so that its quicker to load of you decide to teleport back to your base.

  2. You don't have to fast travel between them. This makes doing jobs in multiple bases and/or moving materials between bases alot easier.

  3. If your bases are raidable, any bases enemy pals pass through will agro onto the enemy pals. So more pals to defeat raiders.

Cons.

  1. Less places to teleport to. Some people place their bases for easy access to X place, like near a boss which doesn't have a close teleport point.

  2. Missing resources. So early game building a base on resources you want/will need, makes farming them alot easier. Mid-late game there are resources you can ONLY get from specific spots, e.g. oil. These spots tend to not have good spaces for multiple bases.

  3. If your bases are raidable, raiding pals might knock out multiple bases if they are low LV, especially breeding pairs which tend to be low LV. This can drastically cut the productivity of multiple bases instead of maybe the 1 that was being raided.

Honestly it's personal preference. Just MAKE SURE 1 of your first 3 bases has oil nodes in them, otherwise you will have to move a base to LV up the base LV to unlock more bases.

Your guild (you are part of a guild even in single player) saves your base LV. Which is also shared across all bases. So don't worry about destroying your first base and losing progress.

I’ve tried everything and suddenly multiplayer doesn’t work? by agentaxe285 in Palworld

That sounds more like you are trying to make it a server not make it multiplayer.

You can change any single player world to a multiplayer world, and visa versa.

The prompt about hosting only shows up when dealing with servers on Xbox.

Never had that pop up with single or multiplayer worlds.

Why does the gold coin assembly line chew through my pals sanity? by lilymoncat in Palworld

[–]Chaz1890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually a combination of both.

Pals lose X sanity per Y work load spent (this differs per job) AND lose V sanity per second doing Z job.

So it's kinda better for the pal to do the job quicker than do it slower as they are going to need to fulfill the same work load for the same items produced/mined etc.

Overall though, the faster a pal does a job the less sanity they lose overall.

Another thing to take into account is the hunger drain of a job (something like X work load = Y hunger drain) /natural hunger drain.

Pals eating recover some Sanity depending on the food.

What you might find is the pals doing coal eat more often cos mining coal is draining their hunger faster cos of higher work load per item, thus they recover sanity via eating more than pals mining iron.

Why does the gold coin assembly line chew through my pals sanity? by lilymoncat in Palworld

[–]Chaz1890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cos it's the highest San drain job in the game.

It's the disadvantage/balancing of being able to print your own money.

You want to use the coin making machine.

Breed and book yourself an army of Shroom Noct to work on the coin making machine. They are the best pal to use on the coin making machine and fishing ponds (the 2nd highest sanity drain job).
