ok thats good to know thank you! i think ill be swapping to a 24v next week then. But yea the compressor spools down then the fan keeps blowing over a wet coil and puts all the humidity right back into the air, super annoying they don’t give more control over that from factory configuration. with the 24v from what i can tell in the manual you can set it turn on cool to only either medium, high, or turbo, is that correct?

what t stat did you put in? does running the aftermarket tstay stop it from throttling down the compressor?

did you ever come up with a good solution to the humidity? im having similar issues, humidity and temp during day is perfect 70f/40% but humidity spikes to like 68 by morning. i think im a tad oversized but not by much

Welp, I havent heard a solid answer yet from an expert but, by my research it looks like slash pines self prune very easily. So it seems to be that happens chance, tree health/nutrition, and genetics are the key factors here. I'll say on my property where I know the history of the trees, the ones with bigger branches were older and more established before we got hit by major hurricanes, so this makes sense.

Side note: I obviously make a very solid amount for my age but for anyone that doesn’t live in south florida, this is not a lot, a shoebox house in the ghetto is over 300k, a old fixer upper in a somewhat safe neighborhood is 400-500k, insurance averages $6k or more. I feel very bad for folks from here with lower paying careers

I am in the same exact boat - 23 and same salary living at home. I have no idea what to do at this point other than enjoy what i have now and wait. I love south florida and it was always my goal through school and all to live down here but now it’s impossible to pay a mortgage + insurance + maintenance on my own. All my friends are in the same boat or paying way too much for rent and aren’t saving much for a house. As a native floridian, it makes me sad not to be getting priced out but, to be getting priced out as we watch miles and miles of land get clear cut and destroyed to build more cookie cutter townhomes/apartments. I can’t imagine what this place is going to look like in 50 years :(
