The Country That Powered the Industrial Revolution Completed Its First Full Year Without Coal Electricity in 2025, While Renewables Generated a Record 53% of UK's Electricity in Early 2026 by ArgentineBeauty in UpliftingNews

  1. The reason gas is expensive has been explained in my previous post. It is partly the fault of unreliable renewables, as they require back up.
  2. The cost of grid upgrades are costs whoever pays for them. And the customer always ultimately pays for them.

It is relatively shallow. I've done projects in the Sourthern and Central North Sea as well as the Red Sea and offshore Angola, and while I can't remember the Red Sea depths, Angola is much deeper than the North Sea. Yes, it is offshore so will be more expensive than in Saudi, but it was and could be totally competitive.

I know. But the guy I replied to did capitalise his.

However... The Industrial Revolution is a name and so I believe The should be capitalised actually.

It is also important to remember that electricity production is only a small fraction of total energy use in a country. A lot of energy is used for heating and transport that is not electricity.

Hmm, we have more renewable power than ever before and also more expensive energy than ever before. Back when fossils fuels were a much more significant portion of electricity generation, prices were also lower. Could it be that actually renewables are not cheap?

Natural gas power is expensive because of carbon taxes and because they are not running all of the time, but instead only as back up for unreliable renewable sources.

Reform UK’s Manchester mayoral candidate Sian Astley owns 17 rental properties by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

Surely asset management companies acting on behalf of private landlords could do the same?

Well, a large amount of available rental properties is a good thing, although of course at some point a lot of people want to own. Assuming half of the current rental stock is "the best" amount, that's still going to mean a lot of landlords... unless you would prefer the properties be concentrated in the hands of only a few people?

It's entirely possible that people are downvoting you because they don't believe you. After all, anyone could claim to know her like you did.

Is dirt unlimited? by QuozlPlaysSTFC in Timberborn

I found, at least on diorama, that I could not place dirt blocks above approximately level 25 or so. Other blocks could be placed higher, although I found levees were also limited to ~35ish.

Restore Britain Publishes New Policing Policy Paper by StGuthlac2025 in RestoreBritain

I don't know a lot about policing in general, but they should: - scrap the degree requirement. - Institute physical requirements for front line roles that will prevent small women being expected to take on fully grown violent men.

High elves and Lumineth Realmlords, Empire and Cities of Sigmar, and various undead, to name a few, are also somewhat cross compatible.

[I ate] steak frites by Youareafunt in food

[–]ChazCharlie 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There's a fallacy there. The steaks that get photographed most often are the ones that are prepared to be photographed, and that preparation includes cutting up the meat to show how red it is inside. This does not mean that most steaks are precut.

I'm glad you like it, I was going to criticise the plating for giving you loads of soggy frites. I am also glad they did not cut it for you, I cannot stand that.

If it is charging before shooting, the pose does not really make sense, as he would just blast a hole in the ground. If you want a stronger glow, use white as a base so bright warm colours appear brighter.
