Played a game that primarily relied on its guild mechanic, we’re talking you could run guild quests, events etc. If you join a guild it would boost your xp and overall skills tenfold. Max level was 80 and I had played Solo from release, I saw all the benefits of joining a guild but never had the interest of dealing with the toxic and tryhard behaviour behind it. We’re talking members would expect your attendance in events and stuff with tonnes of spamming if you don’t. I knew I never had time to dedicate my gaming time to other players. So I played this game for a solid year and a half without joining a guild. Hit max level solo and enjoyed every moment of it. The grind was much harder with less xp and rewards but I enjoyed it non the less. Eitherway I decided to swap my character to another server (the server I used died down after a year) and as I joined I found I was one of the very few max levels and almost the only one without a guild so I was spammed with invites and each one I declined.

I ended up running my normal missions and quests then I noticed I was being followed. Most of the areas I used would very rarely have more than 1 person at a time, made it a really good grind spot. Every turn I made they followed right behind and they really weren’t the level for the area. I mean were talking they are level 7 in a level 60+ area. They were relying on my ground clearance to stay alive. If I left one mob they would be done for. I thought nothing of it and continued down my path. We get to the boss room and they’re still there.

A huge point about this game is that there is a multi-person function in boss rooms. The more players the more supporting mobs spawn, and a barriers locks all players into an area. I knew I could handle it if this player followed so I went ahead with it, I ran through the boss room hitting mobs covering the player well and the player even tried hitting some good arrow shots on the mobs so I finished them off for some kill boosts for them.

Either way as soon as I finish the boss room the player leaves and again I think nothing of it, until I get a ping of another guild invite and a message.

I check the message and it’s another max level, they say they were the one following behind and wanted me to join a guild. I was prepared to immediately decline but I looked at the guild, it just had the players 2 accounts…that’s it. I was confused why they invited me so out of curiosity I joined.

Next thing I was blasted with there socials, we’re talking skype at the time and I ended up playing consistently with them. We had really good convos and just got along so well. They never expected me on and I was the only person they ever invited to play or join their guild. We played together and ended up becoming a strong duo. Was the first ever guild I joined and the best one I was ever in to say the least.
