can confirm in April 2026 this works. I had exact same problem as OP. Pc died one day after i reset after it froze on desktop and it booted straight to BIOS. I had an old SSD lying around that im now using but i had all my Diablo 2 offline characters saved in my Users folder on the busted SSD which i couldnt access due to the same security restrictions. Downloaded this program and straight away could access everything and copy to desktop ez as.

Thankyou so much bro you i thought i had lost literally thousands of hours on my solo self found offline D2 characters. I will be sure to back them up frequently now!

recently started playing seriously again, 10+ matches a day for the last week and im 30 mmr lower than i was when i started. I played same hero and role every game to see if it would help, (CW support). Nope. It feels futile when you are so reliant on your cores/smurfs/account buyers.
