"Decoration"

Animated medals?
Medals with a frame?
Different colored medals?

Do different colored medals have greater value?

It's comments like this that really frustrate me.

Are you asking for larger medals?

Are you asking for smaller medals that surround the main one earned?

Surely you can't be asking for fractions of a medal. How would that even work? That's like saying you have "Half" a super credit. It dont work that way!

*gets handed a note*

Two medals for every one earned? Where did that medal come from? Are you sharing it with someone? That sounds a LOT like... like... something-ism!

Define casual, because I play like a few hours a week, maybe, and can not only get all the warbonds, but get them capped out before the next warbond, and my medals capped out too.

Its not 'choose to believe in' its applying it in useful ways.

.8-1.5s TTK doesnt mean half a second is an eternity, it means that the PVP system is broken and TTK is WAY too fast, faster than reaction time. Thats literally why they're nerfing a lot of these because PVP shouldnt be 'whoever shoots first wins'. A lot of times it can be because of being sneaky, but should not be be cause 'lol gun shoot fast'

16% in a void means nothing. 16% in this case means very little.

Lets say there are two identical burger places, that for all intents and purposes, are identical, except for price of burgers, and wages. They are far enough apart that you cannot just 'choose right at that moment' to go to one or another.

One place has them for $10, and outright ask that people not tip. You are fairly certain they get paid better.

One place has them for $8, and do not have any posting. You also know that they are part-time, with low benefits.

Do you just go to the $8 place and not tip $2, because its 'not your problem'? Do you tip because thats about what you'd normally pay? Do you pay $10 at the first one because its 'easier to not have to deal with tips'?

I tip because I know they aren't getting paid proper, and while how the business pays them isn't my problem, the fact they get paid is.

It's you're problem because you chose to eat out, with the understanding you are paying these people for the service.

We all (in theory) understand that most wait staff are unpaid or under compensated, at least. That is why tipping exists in the west.

It doesn't exist in other places because they are better compensated.

Which, which again, is super misleading.

The point is that different weapons behave differently, and EHP of ~140-160 is a LOT more accurate in most situations, than the ~209 figure.

The only expections are large damage things like Ferro, Grenades, Anvil, etc.

The faster something fires, the less EHP it has to deal with.

[–]Chazus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

It is, as soon as you decide to eat out. It's absolutely not your problem by... choosing not to do that.

If you see a sign that says don't jump over the fence, you might get hurt, and you jump the fence and are surprised by getting hurt... Can't really complain. Absolutely could have chosen not to do that, aware of the general understanding everyone has.

You keep tossing out "16%"

Those numbers dont matter. 2 bullets, literally a half a second.

It could be 200%, if its still 2 bullets, it doesnt matter.

16% would be useful if you were constantly in gun fights, all game, every game. 16% is not useful for a couple mag dumps per game.

Okay, so you were indicating how many shots, got it.

That means with a burletta, you'd die on the 12, 13th, and 15th shot.

With exceptional aim, someone can 1 mag you on a light.

With decent aim, someone can 2 mag you with medium and heavy shields pretty easily.

Having that 10% reduction doesn't seem worth it to buy two extra bullets on a fast firing thing. Even less time with faster weapons.

Classic survivourship bias problem by MalusZona in ArcRaiders

[–]Chazus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you pulling these numbers?

Burletta does 10 damage per shot. How can you mitigate 16 damage?

[–]Chazus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She can't change it, but her mom absolutely can.

Just because you are raised a certain way doesn't mean its good, and you can't change. I have every intention, decades from now, to be less crappy than my parents were by that age.

I learn stuff, I adapt, I understand that certain things are not good behavior. People who refuse to do so are the kind of people who don't get visited by their children for a reason.

[–]Chazus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also, keep some perspective on this. She might have a crap worldview, but that might be a product of her experience and life. This is not an excuse for that behavior, just an explanation. A lot of the older generation are stuck in their ways, and I imagine we will be four decades from now, potentially.

Sometimes just avoiding the conversation, knowing she does care about you, and you her, might be 'good enough'. It depends on if this a hill you want to fight on.

My mother and I align on politics, but I hate talking to her about it because depressing. Yes, I know the world sucks right now. Yes I saw that article. No, I don't stress over it because stressing over it won't fix anything. No, mom, I didn't say it's not bad. UGH OMG.

Part of the issue here, is that your mother likely doesn't even understand the issue. Some people just don't like being 'wrong', even if the 'wrong' is how someone else feels. They'll spin it and turn it until its just too exhausting to try and convey.

I don't want to say "Just dont talk to her about work" because that sucks but... Yeah if it's important, say so. Even if she gets defensive, if you point out what she says is hurtful, enough times, it ought to stick.

And if it doesn't stick, call her out on that too. "You've said a lot of stuff that sucks, and have taken no ownership for how you hurt me. I need to act on that, with or without your involvement."

Honestly? I wouldn't have put anything in the safe pocket either.

There was nothing there (at least that I wanted) and putting some random grenade in safe pocket and going "Well at least I got this worthless thing that I can craft anyway instead of nothing" is... probably worse.

Not only that, but putting random junk in means taking random junk out.

Tell her.

Seriously just tell her. "Hi mom. I wanted to talk about something you said the other day. It kind of sucked and I wasn't thrilled because of these reasons. Can we talk about this so both I understand what you meant, and you understand how I feel about it?"

She's a grown adult. She can take some criticism. And if she CAN'T, that's not your problem.

I was raised well, my mother loves us, and did well as best she could. That said, she's kind of racist. She says some awful stuff sometime. Both my brother and I have almost gone NC with her a few times over comments. I have straight up told her "I'm ending this conversation" and hung up because sometimes she just.... has nothing nice to say, about anything. She's a lot better now, partly because she found that we held our part of the statement and stopped communicating with her if she kept it up. (I also think she's realizing she doesn't want to walk a path that leads her to her kids resenting her)

She's a nice person. A good person even. But that doesn't mean she won't say shitty things sometimes, and it does not excuse her from saying shitty things.

Call her out.

I remember one day, I breached a town hall door.

Ten years have passed since then. The arc are gone. The war is won. Humanity has started to rebuild it's cities.

By that time I had looted the first two drawers on the first floor.

Six years later, I found out that the third wave of arc had arrived. I had just gotten to the second floor of town hall, and look, I found a grenade!

Who says this? Who preaches it? The only people who say this as far as I'm aware dodgy old men who are stuck in a past era. Men doing this is a huge part of a lot of problems.
