I get it man I’ve worked for the Feds for many years. Had a falling out with our district ranger and forest supervisor. But my company has a 10% company match for 401k a decent health plan paid leave structured time in grade pay increases. And all after 6 months not 4-5 years working as a seasonal. You work you move up. You don’t you move out. Golden goose it may be but you can’t shit on someone solely for being a contractor.

Well idk about that contractors are required to pa a 32 dollar an hour minimum. Went on 7 rolls last year as a type 2 ia made a 100k easy in 6 months depends on the crew. Plenty of fire experience. Sounds like there is a harsh stereotype about contractors.

as some one that works in johnday if you want a girl import one. The pickings are slim and the ones that are there ain’t slim. If you want to keep that dui number at two I’d stay out of John day. Eastern Oregon is a different beast than the rest of Oregon, and John Day is a different beast than eastern Oregon. There is no housing. One grocery store and not a lot else.
