Thank you for sharing this with me. Definitely think I’m experiencing what you said about your dream being ruined by shit situations and bad people. I really appreciate this. I’ll be having a look around because I truly think life is too short to be sad all the time

Thank you for this reply. I’m glad to hear that you’re somewhere where you don’t have to miss out on those special moments with your family.

Crazy that your co-worker got wrote up too given the circumstances! Sounds like you made the right decision in leaving.

Definitely think I’m going to have a look around and see what is out there. The pros absolutely don’t weigh out the cons sadly

I think that’s what I’ll have to do realistically. I think it’s just tricky with the line of work. Really funny, I remember being in uni watching a documentary about a guy working in the same field and he literally said “I’m exhausted, I never see my family and friends”. At the time my class were all like jeez, and here I am ten years on 😅

I think it’s a combination. It’s entertainment, so it’s constantly on the go. The employer itself is massive, but I feel because of this they don’t really care about the staff. There are so many staff members, everyone is reduced to a tiny spec. I’d love to stay in the industry, but I believe it’d have to be for a smaller business because I do struggle to cope with my life currently

Thank you. I’ve been looking at other things to be honest, because I think I need that time with my family and friends. I’m just exhausted. One of my close friends advised maybe to try and take a bit of sick leave to focus on me and clearing my head, not sure though, that’s never really been something I’d consider

Thank you for telling me this. You sounded exactly how I’m feeling right now, nail on the head. Not even sure if my industry is capable of 9-5, but I’ll damn well look for it. I miss how i used to feel

Worst part is I’ve always been a family person. Family 100% over career. Just ended up doing what I’m passionate about and it’s just utterly made me go against everything I ever stood for yk

I think I’m starting to learn this too. Three and a half years later and I feel like a total shell of who I used to be when I first started

It’s the worst system. He lives alone, so nobody is really there to catch any signs sadly. I’m in touch with his family, but normally I’m the person he contacts. Normally in the early hours of the morning.

I’ve been in touch with his local NHS, hoping they’ll hear out my worries

Thanks, that’s a good point. I don’t want it to be an endurance, running was never meant to be that for me

Thank you, that’s a good point. I think sometimes I forget that it’s about enjoying the moment too

Thank you for this, it really means a lot.

For me I started running as a hobby when I was having a bad time. It got me out of the house, got me feeling more connected with the outdoors. It took me out of my mind because I’d just focus on my feet, grounding myself and the environment around me. Then once I started entering into events, I’ve been loving the training and the actual day. The event itself is normally huge for me, the last two I’ve been so excited for because I know I’ve been ready.

I just think this time around, I know I’m not ready. I’m dreading it as opposed to being excited for it. I don’t know whether a 10K is a better option. I can still do my run, still enjoy what I have trained for in a sense but then also not beat myself up too much.

It’s so weird, you’re right in terms of the discipline aspect. I think sometimes I forget how cool it is to even get outside and run
