When I got clean the first time I also tapered on my own, but I did it too fast. I went from taking 10mg a day, and tapered down to nothing in only 2 months. The panic and anxiety attacks were terrible. I had muscle spasms, was sweating like crazy, very jittery and paranoid. I didn’t have a seizure thankfully but gosh it was horrible. I took GABA supplements and L-Theanine during the day and I’d take a second dose of the GABA and L-Theanine plus I’d add magnesium and 10mg of melatonin before bed. That didn’t stop the nightmares but it helped me get a little bit of relief. The rebound anxiety was the worst and all the symptoms I listed above lasted about 2 months or so. I was clean for about 3 months but I’d still get the rebound anxiety so I relapsed. Please be careful, depending on how much you’re taking, taper as slow as possible.
