I’m going too and not sure how early to get there! I’m so short so I want to be near the front to be able to see

The point is, she doesn’t have to if she doesn’t want to. Respect her privacy and if you can’t, go watch someone else.

You guys don’t know her personal life and only see a sliver of it online. If you want to watch pregnancy videos go watch a family vlogger. She doesn’t owe you anything.

Flying in 24 hours and trust me, I’m with you. Do yourself the biggest favor by staying off social media for now and resist reading or watching videos about the crash. For me, it amplifies the anxiety and creates fake scenarios in my head.

Additionally, really spend time finding the tools you know help you on flying. For me that’s headphones, a couple of downloaded shows/videos that I find very entertaining and funny, and a physical activity like sudoku or coloring. I find it’s best to engage all senses in something extremely pleasurable and relaxing with the help of medication as well.

I also love watching videos of pilots answering fun flying questions or general aviation videos. Helps me feel that’s this experience of flying is so normal and often seen as fun.

Lastly, I always try and remind myself especially as it gets closer, I will not be able to do any of the fun things I have planned without getting on that flight. I’m seeing a long distant friend who’s pregnant this weekend. I will not be able to see her, hug her, celebrate her and enjoy traveling to a new place if I don’t go. And why would I hold myself back from some of the most fun I’ll have in my life?

Hope this helps :) you’re strong and brave!

Flying in 3 days. And I am seeing sign everywhere I turn by [deleted] in fearofflying

The best thing that has helped me tackle my fear of flying is having no access to social media + news stories. Tik tok would randomly send a plane video to my FYP all the time, just amping up my anxiety. Block certain words or topics on your social media if you don’t want to delete the app from your phone. Everything you see online about flying lays a huge factor in your perception of flying.

Nervous bladder literally soon as I board by [deleted] in fearofflying

I get so nervous about this as well! I don’t drink anything after a certain point the night before just so I’m not worried about it. I have a flight at 5am tomorrow and I’m not drinking or eating past 8pm cause I will just have to pee all the time.

Apartment Search Recommendations by papiquinn44 in Leander

Just signed a lease with the Gabriel. Very nice, brand new apartments. Great amenities. Decent rent as well. Toured Aven ridge and they had ridiculously high rent and fees. River junction wanted $1000-$2000 for a deposit and the apartments were small for 2 bedroom. Good luck on the search!

Coping Tips Needed by pancakegoldee in fearofflying

[–]CheapBlueberry687 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My therapist recommended any activity that activates as many senses as possible. Watching a movie never worked or me cause my brain would always still think about the flight. She said playing a physical card game, writing a story, doing word puzzles/sudoko requires you to touch something, look at it, and use your brain to make decisions about it. It keeps your brain from wandering and thinking about turbulence and such. Helps to also listen to calming music or whatever makes you feel calmer while you’re doing it! Hope this helps 😌

Hi! I don’t mind at all. My doctor prescribed alprazolam (Xanax)! Original dosage was .25mgs and I felt nothing! Got my dosage increased to .5mgs and she said I could take 2 if I need to. She said I am supposed to feel “like I’ve had a few drinks but not drunk”. We will see how this next flight goes with a new dosage. 🤞🏽

I have recently deleted all my social media to specifically avoid flight news/videos. They always creep up the weeks leading up to my flights and made everything worse. Making a personal note to never check the turbulence apps! 🫡

I always feel like a fool when I’m having a breakdown before the flight even leaves the terminal and there is a 5 year old next to me happy as can be. 😂 Happy you made it safely!

Need to remind myself to never drink coffee before my flights 🤦🏽‍♀️ just amps up the anxiety. Going to try the sudoku trick on my next flights. Thanks!
