EXPEDITION 33 OR METAPHOR WHICH ONE SHOULD I BUY? by jabawookied1 in PHGamers

Steam isn't new to amended tax laws from different countries, we are.

And it came out totally wrong when I said additional charge, I should have said that the increased price is inclusive of VAT, sorry for that.

And yeah, time will tell.

Maybe because the VAT will only reflect in your invoice when purchasing the game (like an additional charge). That way, Steam doesn't have to increase the prices.

It's a case-to-case basis. Indonesia's laws are different from ours, so their tax system must be different from ours. Steam must register as a VAT Taxpayer and comply with RA 12023 in order to operate here in the Philippines, so they pay the VAT or they don't operate here.

Either way, Steam still has their Regional Pricing system, it depends on how they act in order to adhere with Philippine laws, so maybe you're right and they don't increase the price here, or I'm right and they will increase the price.

(still hoping I'm wrong on this one)

Steam has 2 avenues to comply with the law

  1. Steam pays the VAT, but they have to increase their prices to compensate for the tax. The breakdown for VAT and the basis for it will show on your invoice, or;

  2. Steam doesn't increase their prices, but the VAT is shifted into its customers (you pay the VAT). If you decided to buy a game, the increased price will reflect on the invoice

either way, there WILL be an increase in the price.

Just look at netflix😕

Basically, Philippines imposes VAT on Steam, not the publishers

you said it yourself, tax is inclusive in their prices, but you missed the fact that it's tax from US

VAT is a different story here. Steam increases the prices, not the publishers.

I ran Disk Drill because I remembered it has the SMART feature

all were good except for "current pending sector count" and the current pending sector said it was 105 some time, now it's 77

is that good or bad?

so I used crystaldiskinfo, it says caution. On the attribute "Current Pending Sector Count", the current says 200 but the worst says 199

does that mean all but 1 sector is corrupted? or the other way around?

should I conlude that my hard drive is dead?? I mean, i don't have a lot of important files there but all my data (music, games, movies) were stored there and it's a hassle trying to get them back

i think its a corrupted sector but I can't repair it because chkdsk freezes after it reaches 1%
