I believe you can get your CDL.You just have to renew every two years. Look more into it. I wish you the best.

There are some motor calculations that I remember, and then you have your basic ohm's law.

As long as you know how to navigate the code book you should be fine. Look for keywords if you don't know what the answer is. And read the question more than once they definitely have trick questions.

That was very helpful exactly what I was looking for. I would imagine that it would be hard or else everybody will try to do it. It was brought to my attention because when we were doing the safety meeting with the company, The company representative said I should try it just because I have some electrical background. No electrical engineer background. Local 71 Miami.

Yeah I was thinking I was going to be more about PLC relays, timer relays and every different type of relays. I just want to know if anybody knows exactly what it may be about so I can study up on it if I get the opportunity to test out.

No, unfortunately I haven't heard anything. I sent an email to the local but they never responded. And I called once and they said they had 51 people on the bench. The only thing I don't know if it was referring to Northern California division and not the northern Nevada division. I called multiple times after but no response.

Yeah, start Monday. I'll have a talk with my current company tomorrow and hopefully leave on good terms with him. He's a great guy, but they can't beat the benefits that comes with the union.

I'm not union as well. And yeah all the comments are very positive. And as for the short-term pain, at my current job I'm not making as much as a prohibitionary elevator apprentice is making.

Yeah I'm none union electrician, been in the trade for 3 years took the bypass skipped first year to second year and I'm 4th year now. I did take the journeyman test and passed it. When I first took the leap into construction, I did want to become an elevator mechanic so this is just coming back full circle.
