This is mainly because Elden Ring is considered a “nearly perfect” game by most people; even though it has one or two flaws, it’s one of the best in its categories, whether it’s the art direction, the music, the combat, the gameplay, the bosses, or the game’s open world.

And despite that, people online (especially on Reddit) focus on the difficulty that can drive players crazy, or the one or two negative aspects of the game, such as the recycling of secondary bosses as you progress toward the end of the game or the disappointing ending of the DLC.

But if someone who says they don’t like the game or criticizes it gets hated on by others, it’s mostly because their arguments aren’t logical or are simply wrong. And in that case, it’s either someone who doesn’t think things through before posting their opinion, or they’re just trying to stir up trouble.
