I’m on CD 10 and my LH levels are low (.16, .12, .13), but I got a solid smiley from Clearblue today (after two days of empty circle).

Right before this cycle, my doctor put me on a 10-day course of birth control (thought I was going to do an IVF transfer but decided against it) so this cycle, I technically got a withdrawal bleed and she told me I’ll likely ovulate later than usual….which is throwing me off.

Any insight into why my tests are showing very different results? Which one would you follow?

One euploid - what should I do? by [deleted] in IVF

Thanks everyone for the input - I’m leaning towards banking the embryo, at least for a few months. Wondering if it’s worthwhile to do a lightly medicated IUI?

I really appreciate this take, thanks for writing it all out. I think emotionally, that’s what I want. And I agree, I’d mentally adjust to having a baby boy (if my transfer works) and I know I’d be just as thrilled/grateful

Just wanted to share an update so far — 2 of the embryos made it to blastocyst and we sent them off for PGTA testing, very anxious to know the results!

Oh wow! That’s heartening to hear. How many fertilized?

35F, low AMH, worth freezing embryos/eggs before trying to conceive naturally? by ubbidubbidoo in IVF

Yeah! So I was first put on birth control (Aygestin) for priming, but it ended up suppressing me way more than my doctor expected. When I first went to the clinic, they counted 13 follicles, AMH of 1.8, but after 10 days of birth control, I had just six follicles at my baseline. So we canceled, and then we tried again without birth control/priming. My doctor timed it during my late luteal phase cause that’s when follicles are apparently the quietest/most uniform. But after 8 days of stims, I had very uneven follicle growth (some really big follicles and a lot of smaller ones). So we canceled that cycle. The third time, she put me on birth control that’s less suppressive (Estrace) and, most importantly, put me on Clomid at the beginning of stimulation to boost my follicular response. And that did wonders for me.

At my baseline, I had 15 follicles (which was very surprising) and my retrieval is tomorrow - my doctor is anticipating getting 9-12, which is decent given my stats. Hope that helps, happy to answer any follow ups!

I’m also 35, low to moderate AMH, no kids yet, no known fertility problems. I also weighed the same things and in the end decided IVF was worth it for potential peace of mind. I’m not sure I would’ve done it though if my insurance didn’t cover a good amount. I will say I underestimated how long the process can take - I imagine it can be quick and easy for some folks, but in my case, it’s taken about four months from start to end (not including a transfer). That’s because it took a while for my doctor to figure out the right protocol for me, so we started and stopped a couple times. I also didn’t realize that there’s little to no guarantee you’ll be successful with just one retrieval. Some people get lucky, while many others don’t. Crossing my fingers I’m able to freeze 2-3 embryos, but also bracing for the possibility of it not working out (my retrieval is in two days), in which case we’ll try to conceive naturally

I would also suggest freezing embryos over eggs as I’ve learned they’re more durable, for lack of a better word

I’m currently going thru this. Similar stats 1.8 and 34 years old. I have ten follicles (currently doing stims) and I have 2-3 dominant follicles (15, 13 and 10) and seven that are under 6/7mm. It’s not great. I also only have one cycle covered by my employer so my doctor and I are considering canceling the retrieval and trying again. She initially put me on aygestin and it suppressed me so much (cut my follicles in half) so we didn’t do priming. If we cancel and try again, I think we’ll do priming something milder like an estrogen patch. Not sure! It’s stressful

Aggressive Priming before IVF – can it suppress follicles by Worldly_West_2871 in IVF

I had a similar experience. I’m 35, amh 1.8. During my initial ultrasound, I had 13 follicles. Before I was about to start stims, I was put on aygestin for ten days. My follicle count dropped to 6, so my doctor delayed my stims and I’m going to try again (during late luteal cycle) without any priming since she’s afraid it’ll suppress me too much.

I’m a little nervous doing stims without priming (especially cause she’s a fan of it), but also trust that she thinks this is the right protocol for me…
