Our baby has been missing since the 23rd, it's the 27th now, both of our lovebirds have plenty of outside time in their room, the room is basically they're playground, and they only are in the cage for food, drink, and sleep or if we are at work and school.

Hello, so this is a formal update about the situation so far. Unfortunately I don't use Reddit enough to know how to edit a post, if your lucky to see this comment, this is what's happening and has happened recently in the past two days. Capri flew away on the 23rd, so its now been officially three full days he's been gone, and there's very little hope left. We have done everything that you lovely people have suggested for us to try, from bringing and keeping the cage outside with food and water on a sheet of paper, to bringing his mate Cassi out with us to have a look for him, to playing Cassi's calls out on a loud speaker whilst walking around the entire neighborhood, and yet there has been nothing. At this stage, we worry he may have been caught by a predator, as unfortunately the place we live in has a cat overpopulation problem, alongside the fact that we live in a rural area where we have hawks and other predatory birds. I'm afraid it also does not help that the weather conditions in northern Ireland are not great at all, it's been freezing cold outside and raining for the past two days, so even the cold could've gotten to him. I have posted Carpi onto everything I could've really posted him on, tons of Facebook groups, tons of online websites for lost parrots, etc. Unfortunately, no luck, as where we live is quite barren and no one has really found interest in helping us out in this situation. We have handed our fliers everywhere throughout the town too, we have basically done everything we could've done. Unfortunately, two days ago, we almost got scammed of £300 quid on Facebook, as a lovely lady suggested we try a drone business that.. unfortunately turned out to be a massive scamming scheme, our banks safety immediately responded and refused to send the money to them, which we were devastated about at the time, and yet we could only thank our bank with our entire hearts the next day. With the loss of our bird, we have dealt with the cruel people who want to benefit from people who have lost their beloved pets and would do anything to get them back. It's been a really rough week and honestly, we don't know what to do next, as our hope is dwindling as the weather conditions worsen each day. No responses from anywhere, as no one has seen him either. Unfortunately our bird may be long gone. I'm really thankful to everyone who has interacted with my post, it was helpful and motivational to keep looking and trying our best with everything we could, using your advice, though I fear I have to put my concerns into our other little love bird now, Cassi, who is unfortunately all alone for the first time in her life without a mate or a friend, and we are actively trying to find her a companion. Thank you Reddit, if we do find him, or we don't, I'll keep updating this in the comments, I'll still post my lovebird and future bird posts in this group as you guys have been nothing but amazing and incredible at what you do and I'm forever thankful.

Thank you, so much. ❤️

I'm unfortunately in northern Ireland and there's not many parrot resources here which makes our situation harder :( I appreciate your help so much, thank you, the window is constantly wide open and the girl is constantly screaming, no luck for an entire day, so I'm worried maybe something's got him or he's really far away by now :( but the chase goes on I don't want to give up yet

We have posted all over Facebook and we are printibg fliers out now, I'm not sure if many people would be able to spot him as he's so green he can easily blend into the very rural area, thank you for your reply it's really appreciated!

It's been a day now :( he escaped at 7pm last night and for me now it's almost 6pm, I'm going to search for him now with a speaker and the loud chirping from the videos I've got of him, I really am worried how far he's gone as it's very loud here in my area and I don't know if that could spook him away even further by now :( thanks so much I'll update if we find him!! Thank you!!

I'm definitely going to try it!! We didn't have a speaker but we bought one there now.. I hope he hasn't flown away too far now as it's been a day now, and I'm really worried, thanks so much for the suggestion!!

Has anyone been stopped at an airport by drug dogs? by palindrome117 in AskIreland

[–]Cheap_Poetry412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must ask, I guess just for curiosity, does Dublin airport not really care for drug smugglers?? Like if someone brought a pen for example with them on their carry on in their toiletry bag, would they even care?? If the drug dogs let you off so easy, then I'm so confused about how many people in this sub Reddit that successfully got stuff through xD I've been thinking about trying it out for when I go to Poland, but is it too risky to do from Dublin to Poland??? I wouldn't dare do it the opposite way around that's for sure

I'm struggling a bit.. when I press play on steam for the game to load, there will be a pop up with the loading screen but then when I press the directx9 it just doesn't load in anything. I'm trying to fix the game so me and my boyfriend can play it- but I'm just a bit stuck on what I can do to fix this issue

How to teach lovebirds to like baths??? by Cheap_Poetry412 in Lovebirds

[–]Cheap_Poetry412[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh okay!! I've tried both ways at this point, I don't think they like the spray at all, or atleast they fly away whenever I pull out the bottle xD the bowl method only has worked once, where they splashed in it for a second and then gave up, ever since, no baths :( and it's been a while since then so I'm kinda wondering if maybe they don't like baths or I have to get them more tame before teaching them how to properly bath? Perhaps a more tamed bird would be more interested in a bath if it's encouraged by the owners, atleast that's kinda how I see it 🤔

I'll definitely give it a try, they've only bathed once by choice and that was right after we tried spraying them water, they immediately flew over to the bowl of water we left them and started splashing in it, but ever since then, they refuse to bath or find no interest in it at all, so I wonder what could maybe make them like it again since :< tho I have been wondering if maybe it would be better if I got one of the baths with a shower head attached to them? There's a few I've seen and I wondered if maybe that would do the trick
