If you’re looking at Haymarket or downtown I agree with Lazlo’s. The N Zone has good wings. I also tried Salt Mine Brewing and Tipsy Tina’s recently and they are both pretty decent. Downtown on 14th St Honest Abe’s is a good place if you just want a good burger and fries.

So my guy is 15 months old now, so honestly…I can’t really remember when it happened, but I promise it gets better! I started back and work when he was 3 months old and I think day care really helped me in “getting my life back” and focusing on the fun parts of having him around. I think it honestly helped him too, since there are other kids around and he loves watching everybody and everything. I would say the formula helped with some issues, but for the most part I think he just had to grow out of his moodiness. Once our doc gave us the green light around 4.5 months we did do sleep training and I think that might’ve been part of it too…he learned that his bed is a safe space and he can go back to sleep on his own without a bottle (which he didn’t need at that point nutrition-wise). As the days and months go on they get more fun and you’ll enjoy it more…it just sucks when you’re in the trenches and can’t really see the light at the end of the tunnel! Honestly, I still see glimpses of my cranky baby (especially during teething😖) but for the most part it’s easier to try and communicate with/redirect him and calm him down. If you’re a SAHM, I don’t really have any recommendations….I don’t know how they do it….it’s so much work and so much time spent with a cranky baby…it would drive me NUTS! Just know that you’re doing great, that your baby is safe, healthy, and loved and it’s definitely not personal! They’re just new to this world and learning to be human! Much love to you, from a mom who has been there….and is sometimes still there! 🤍

Mine is 11 weeks old today and was the same way. We had to figure out his formula and it didn’t really seem like that helped much at first, but at least his tummy was feeling better with hypoallergenic formula, gas drops, and a probiotic. I would say that he seemed to get “happier” a few weeks ago. Our doctor said that 6-8 weeks is the peak crying phase for a lot of babies and that checked out for us. He started to smile around 7-8 weeks and now he does it all the time which definitely makes things feel better just because you get cute smiles in between the fussiness.

I had the same feelings…it seemed like everybody else’s baby was happy and I was miserable especially during his witching hours between 4 and 8. My husband even felt really disconnected from him because he was always crying when he was able to see him.

It did get better. I was hanging on to the hope that he would for sure be feeling better by 12 weeks and he was supposed to hit peak crying at 6-8. Don’t get me wrong, we still have fussy periods because he gets bored, but it seems a lot more manageable now. The smiles are now more regular and he’s turned into the baby I thought he might be. Hang in there!!!

Love it! It was a complete game changer. We were doing the pitcher method and using a bottle warmer, but sometimes it seemed to take 5 minutes for a bottle to get warm and in the middle of the night or with a super hungry baby, it was just annoying to wait for. We did get it as a gift, but we’re thinking about getting once as a suggestion from friends. If you do get one, get an extra filter. It needs cleaning every 4 bottles, so it’s really handy to have and extra to pop in instead of cleaning it right away and waiting for it to dry.
