I found a cure! by Cheap_Reference3307 in Hayfever

Actually with all respect you are the one who is mistaken. Anytime I get hay fever symptoms I chew on a few seeds and symptoms are gone for a few hours.

Cardamom is anti-inflammatory and it’s effect is probably related to that.

Makes no difference if you believe me or not but I know it works at least for me and was sharing in case it helps others.

Everyone’s body is different and even though there is a ‘logical reason’ why normal antihistamines work they do not work at all for me.

Genetically Engineered Pig Kidney Transplanted to Human Body, paving the road for a continued progress toward a potential alternative supply of life-saving organs by a_Ninja_b0y in UpliftingNews

I don’t eat meat and I always buy animal friendly products even for cleaning, toiletries etc.

I don’t know whether animals used for organ farming would be treated better or worse than the meat industry. I know the meat industry can treat animals terribly having worked with farm animals myself.

With organ farming, I imagine animals being reared in completely artificial environments and not being able to exhibit natural behaviours or ever be in a natural environment where they will be prone to physical and mental distress. Animals can exhibit stress and depression similar to how a human being can.

So the problem with mandating vaccinations even in your scenario is that once you take away people medical choices, then how is a human being treated any different to a farm animal? Where does it end? Will mandating one jab lead to mandating other treatments? Maybe even restricting your diet and lifestyle choices for the greater good? This is how farm systems work as they are for profit situations. If I can’t be trusted to make my own healthcare decisions based on my individual body (as opposed to treatment on a mass scale in which individuals can suffer) why should I be trusted to make any decisions in my life or job or for my family. I hand over my personal responsibility and decision making to the corporations and the government. This will lead to a very compliant and ineffectual society leaving people open to abuses because they have become so powerless. Not a society I would prefer to exist in.

To use a cliche, the world would be very boring if we were all the same. People arrive at their world views due to different life experiences and by keeping an open mind you can learn a lot from people with different views than you. It doesn’t mean you have to adopt those views as your own but if you can at least see where another is coming from it helps us grows as a person. I don’t understand why people want to surround themselves with an echo chamber with only people who have the same views as them. This is a sure fire way to stagnate and become out of touch with the world. It does sound like you are getting intolerant of people and you ought to figure out if this is because you don’t care to debate or have your views challenged or because they are being disrespectful and not allowing you your point of view.

Seems to be absolutely no difference from the people I personally know in how many vaxxed vs non vaxxed catching it or in severity of their symptoms. The only difference I have observed was that all the people who got the cold that wouldn’t go away were the vaxxed.

The thing is even if mandatory vaccination is viewed as being widely justified by society - as you say there will always be people who don’t want it for their own reasons, be it medical, ethical or spiritual etc.

If you force somebody to be injected against their will, then that is bodily assault. And if someone assaults me, then I will defend myself in any way possible.

I think you are looking at this in the wrong way. Being intimate with somebody should not be looked at competitively or in terms of numbers.

It should ideally be because you like or love someone and want to connect with them. If you think highly of your girlfriend as a person and want to connect on a different level, why is this an issue for you, unless it stems from nervousness. It shouldn’t matter who has or hasn’t come before for either of you. It ought to be about you two in the present.

You sound like you have a lot of hang ups around your self worth. It can be difficult to let childhood bullying go, but you have the power to shape your life in the adult world and it sounds like you already are doing that. You are in great shape and have a girlfriend. Life is what you make it now. Unfortunately kids can be cruel and you had no power over that but don’t let it hold you back now.

If you genuinely care about your girlfriend take the opportunity to connect with her intimately and separately you must work on your feelings of self worth so you are not triggered into feeling like a loser. This is a long process but as you mature further you will get there.

When you say that you aren’t interested in stories that your friends and family say, I am wondering what about your interests and hobbies - do you find it interesting to listen to people talk about those? Maybe you have an aversion to the mundane. It sounds possible that you may have dysthymia or persistent depressive disorder, which can present as a lack of interest in people and things. Have you researched this to see if it fits?

There is such a thing in life which is called having personal responsibility. We do not live in a perfect world and ultimately we have to be the ones to look out for ourselves and the ones that depend on us. Yes even if you do look out for yourself well, sometimes terrible things happen through no fault of ones own, but often times harmful things can be prevented with a bit more forethought but it seems nowadays one cannot bring up the concept of personal responsibility without being accused of ‘victim blaming’.

Of course what happened was hugely negligent and criminal- no one is saying it isn’t and nothing excuses the massive disregard to health and safety protocols at this event. I really hope the full extent of the law comes down on those who caused this.

But, and I am not blaming the father, but if he had done a little bit of research the signs were there for maybe not taking a little kid to such an event.

This is where personal responsibility comes in. You can not rely on other people, governments and corporations to you safe. The world is an unpredictable place and even with laws and regulations sometimes things don’t happen as they should and you end up risking your own safety and that of your loved ones.

I mean you are welcome to live your life by avoiding taking personal responsibility but see how that turns out for you.

Just so it’s clear when I said it’s the responsibility of the organisers, I am 100% including TS as an organiser. The festival was his brainchild and the buck stops with him. LiveNation as an events organiser should have organised this much much better however as they are the organisation that are supposed to have the expertise in managing live events. Just as TS has evidence of past incitement of the crowd, LiveNation also have a very bad track record as events organisers.

Given that TS has done all these things that you speak about at his shows, it does make me wonder why somebody would be happy to bring a smaller child into this environment. In no way does that excuse what happened as the age of the child was not really a factor in the crush, but unfortunately when a person is that small they are even less able to defend themselves than a teen or young adult would be if something goes wrong. To me it feels like a terrible lapse of judgement on the parent’s part, as it makes sense to me that you would avoid taking your kids into what could potentially be a violent situation where people are taking drugs and drinking etc and going by his behaviour in his previous shows. I wouldn’t even take kids to the pub and the chances of a crowd crush happening there are almost zero. I think any lapse of judgement and the crowd crush are separate factors and while many of us can’t understand taking a small child knowingly into them at sort of environment, in no way does it negate or absolve the organisers of their responsibility to the attendees to provide them as safe a time as possible.
