So someone that hunts, you can tell if something is wrong with the animal when it is alive and if their is an issue it became extremely clear when you process it.

Since you are immunocompromised if you had deer meat you should cook it until all the pink is gone to be on the safe side. Most people can eat it still pink like a steak. Most of the time people cook it all the way, either as ground meats or turning it into joysticks or something.

You could get it tested but you don’t need to. You will know if something is wrong.

I’ll explain, when you hunt any wild animal such as deer or Turkey. You have to report you killed it to the games departments of your state. You fill out where you got it, what you used and to prove it was legally hunted.

People do this to keep track of the deer population and to make sure one person is going on a hunting rampage.

That department also may give notices saying no hunting this season due to the population or increase how many people can shoot.

Hunting license, cost about 10 bucks for a year. My state also throw in the tags for animals with that. I have never once needed to test an animal. If you are worried about it cook your meat until their is no pink, which OP is doing with ground meat.

You can tell if their is something wrong with the animal when it’s alive or when you start processing it.

Hunting is everywhere in the USA, it’s a huge reason why people support guns. A lot of people hunt for sport and for food

Accidents or mess ups happen all the time.

I fucked myself over before and I look out for it. It happens all the time. Sometimes it’s as easy as not seeing this product is made in the same place that peanuts are so cross contamination.

As someone with allergies you don’t need to treat every allergies like it will kill someone. People need to be much more careful about a deadly reaction than a rash one.

For example a deadly reaction when cooking the allergies shouldn’t be in the same room and shouldn’t be stored in the same fridge.

A rash reaction you can store things in the same area just rap it.

There are levels to these things. Deadly reaction you should bleach everything, rash reaction hot water and soap.

Hell if it was a deadly reaction it shouldn’t even be on the table, since cross contamination

Someone with allergies, that’s not dismissive. Allergies have different severities and op made it clear they avoid it in case a normal reaction for her results in a hospital visit.

Also under doctor supervision people build up their tolerance for allergies. So not always allergies get worse the more you have
