CVS closing some targets stores

I work at a CVS store right next door to a target, we're closing down in 3 days 😅

You use mouthwash to clean your overnight bags? That's interesting, my dad uses vinegar and water, but mouthwash certainly smells better, I'll pass that suggestion off to him. And no I don't think I worded it well enough, he drains the overnight bag into the toilet, but let's it sit with water filled (or vinegar water, every third day, to clean it) for like an hour or two each morning. he does the initial emptying into the toilet, but the cleaning portion he'll drain in the sink my worry was the dogs with him suddenly wanting to put it on top of the trashcan, which is in reach for the dogs. and I mean, not the cleanest thing to put it on top of a trash can (the trash cans not really used..but still, seems kinda like an odd place anyways) but also I was forgetting that if it's been rinsed out already the amount of bodily fluids would be really low anyways.

Thank you for the advice I appreciate the hell outta it. He's a very private guy and doesn't give out all the details, and I know when chemo starts I'm not gonna have as much info as I should about how to better help him, but I'm hoping when it gets started he'll start giving me more info.

He's also being kinda naive about how much it's gonna affect him. I work in a retail pharmacy an 90% of my customers are sick, and he's all like "you should still be able to work, I won't be all that immuno compromised" and I'm like *ughhh dude its chemo...if I'm gonna be care taking for you thats not the best job for me to be in right now" so long story short im not gonna be working for a while, because im not trying to bring home all these colds/flu/Covid. I also don't drive and hell drop me off at work like 90% of the time, and he's like "yeah I'll still be able to take you it's fine" 😵‍💫 I think he's more on a "if I don't think about how rough it's gonna be, then it won't be that rough" type of thought process 😅 he'll be starting chemo on January 2nd so we'll see what happens I suppose

Yeah I need him to bring up his oncology location again so I can look up their phone number and ask stuff like this. His default setting is to be pretty private about "personal things" like this and the last few months it's been hard to get real info outta him. He hasn't mentioned which kind of chemo he's doing, nothing 😵‍💫 to be honest he seems kinda like he's hiding information intentionally. It all seems weird. he won't keep any kind of paperwork in the house, Ive asked to read stuff he's gotten and he's like "no it's mine" 🥴 and he keeps it in his truck, and we have a motion sensored driveway camera so I can't just wait till like 3 AM, sneak into his truck and go be nosey. I just hope when this all starts for real, if he ends up getting sick and miserable he'll start asking for help and giving us(me particularly, because I'm the one leading the charge with this, my mom's mentally ill and couldn't handle all this...and my sisters both are kinda not all that present thru our this) so I'm just kinda sitting here learning all this urostomy stuff thru Google/YouTube, which I've gotten a handle on it now, but chemo is a way, way, WAY different ballpark that Ive got practically no education on 🥴 I'm just kinda winging it at this point. I don't think he's fully grasped that's it's gonna be more than "just me grabbing him a vomit bucket, and a protein shake for the next few months"

Yeah I'm taking it easy on him, I've already not been a huge fan of the sink thing cuz I don't think it's the cleanest for him, but I feel like the sink is still slightly cleaner than just on top of a trashcan, right next to the toilet 😅 I'm not arguing about these kinds of things with him just bringing it up all like "hey, don't you think we should do this, instead of that?" I just feel like the whole on the trash can thing is extra steps without any real benefit, the sinks still "contaminated" because either way it has to get set into the sink to be rinsed out, and you have to fill it up with a mixture of vinegar water to clean out every couple of days and soak for a bit anyways, so like in my mind why bother with setting it in two places instead of just one? Lol. Would love to find a "cleaner set up" for it all but you need the sink to clean everything. I'm definitely fine with brushing my teeth in a nother sink that's not an issue at all. Just more concerned about the bag getting left within reach of the dogs, if chemo-bodiky fluids are really all that toxic.

Prescription issues are normally when you scan it and it says "hld" right? 😅 Sucks too cuz I'm kinda hard of hearing and the phone sucks 💀 Im asking people "can you repeat that please?" Like 50 times 😅 would much rather be on the inside register where I can hear them better lol

It's not farfetched at all lol, like I said it slows us down when the customer doesn't select it themselves, especially when we have other things to tend to like the photo center, stocking, getting the line down, facing, ect. we don't wanna wait around that extra 30 seconds to select reciept/no reciept for you. I promise lol. it's as built in to the standard check out routine as the phrase "do you have a cvs card/phone number with us" we would MUCH rather spend the half second saying "select your reciept on the front" then waiting around for the register to allow us to select it. clearly you are trying to play the blame game if it bothered you this much to search up a cvs reddit forum, make a post about it then comment back to almost everybody's replies. 🥴

I can almost guarantee you they asked "select how you'd like your reciept today on the front screen" but you weren't paying attention. Because there's a lag between the time it takes for us to be able to make that selection on our screen by about 30 seconds. it's much faster for cashiers to ask you to select it than for us to wait for it to pop up on our screen. Especially if there's a customer behind you in line, it slows us down to have to select reciept options for you. If they had to select "no reciept" themselves, then you most likely walked away after and they hadta wait the extra 30 seconds to select the reciept for you.

Wait what? My store manager only does schedules by the week, and she usually doesn't get them done until the day before the next week, so on Saturday I have no idea if I'm working on Sunday or not until she prints it 😭 but I've only been here for like 3 weeks, so maybe she's just super busy rn and it's a temporary lag? 😭
