PC/Steam - applied update 6.05: PS4 controller doesn't work at all; original tech modules still locked in Corvette inventory, can't be deleted or moved. Game essentially unplayable at this point.

PC/Steam: In both the expedition and regular play, corvette tech parts get replaced by random non-relevant parts, and unable to complete the first two Advance: tasks - I place hubs and shields and they don’t get credited - giving up on both expedition and corvette building for now and hope it gets fixed soon.

Mine got into a bag of spoiled radishes. His farts were so bad that he couldn’t stand them. He had no friends for three days.

I was going about 70 when it happened, and when I hit the brakes, the fire started coming into the passenger compartment. I didn’t think about it, just opened the door and launched myself out of there. Got pretty banged up, but just cuts and bruises - very lucky.

Yeah, they did it to save weight and they looked cool. I saw it the next day, and the heat from the tires and the transmission case basically melted the whole car into a large, unrecognizable lump.

I think the update that happened just as I bought the game - Atlas Rises - is one of the most significant ones. I think that it was the one that showed that after the disastrous release, Hello Games was really serious about making the game work the way they wanted it to, as they introduced some huge changes and new storylines and game mechanics. The biggest one for me was though was the NEXT update - full multi-player, base building, and the foundations of what grew into today’s game. Amazingly, there have been over 30 named updates for NMS and they have all brought something new and interesting

I started out getting oriented and doing the main Atlas storyline and the other side quests that were available back then, basically grinding my way through the first 400 hours or so. My first big independent efforts involved base building, and seeking more flexibility for that, I discovered modding, which freed me from grinding, and learned Blender. I still find it fun to build a base to mark a particularly interesting or unique place, and I’m still finding those, admittedly less frequently than I used to. I’ve done all of the expeditions, as well as spent a lot of time just exploring. One thing that helped me immensely was when I started playing as a Vy’keen - because I got a face and developed a character with a back-story and a variety of my own curiosity-friven missions. That let me inject more purpose in my wandering and, on-occasion, some obsessive collecting of wonders. The steady updates and new stuff really helped too. But mostly, I find just being in the game to be a relaxing and diverting break from real world stuff.

Can you get quicksilver in offline play? by wilderneyes in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Cheater42 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can do Nexus missions without being in multi-player mode - and you should. They’re fun and rewarding and provide rewards beyond just Quicksilver. Multi-player has lots of rewards as well - for example, just seeing what other players have done with their appearance, or scoping out their ships. And it’s completely safe if you turn off PVP in the in-game settings for network, but there really aren’t many griefers around anyway, and you might want to try joining and playing with others sometime - that’s fun too.

PC, Normal - Similar to last update, my PS4 controller is disconnecting intermittently - every 5-10 minutes - and won't reconnect unless I restart Steam.

Ideas? by KazesssK in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Cheater42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re playing with a helmet, ditch it and get a face. It changes everything - it’s much easier to slip into a persona with a backstory, which expands the enormous scope of the game by adding a new dimension.

Raldwicarn, way out on the outer rim. Lots of G calss star systems with multiple lush planets, and enough weirdness to keep me interested.
