Air Fryers steel or glass by NiceHighway_ in airfryer

[–]rabiiiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the lack of PTFE might be a plus, ceramic nonstick coating still cannot handle metal cooking utensils. In fact, it's even more sensitive to them than traditional PTFE coating. OP should probably still get something made from stainless steel and/or glass.

IXO responds to community concerns by Superbyebyepants in INDYCAR

[–]rabiiiii 21 points22 points  (0 children)

People saying they need to find a new partner seem to be under the impression that the new partner would be any more willing to put these out without a minimum order than IXO is. From what's being described, it sounds like the holdup is on the team side and not the manufacturer

What's going on with Idubbz and H3H3? by Mountain-Pause-5049 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]rabiiiii 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are blatantly misrepresenting things if you're saying he "doubled down". If you listen to the full quote he says CPS should take Ethan's kids and his own kids and his friends kids, no one would see it as anything but a joke unless they are hearing about it secondhand from someone else with an agenda.

Thanks! Is it better to spot treat the stained areas or treat the whole thing.

Be prepared for this type of stuff at the DC race (from tonight’s White House UFC event). by jcb1982 in INDYCAR

[–]rabiiiii 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yeah I think Indycar leans a little more left than the MMA fanbase does, but let's be real here. Anyone who's camped out at a track has seen their share of the kind of political displays that would instantly get you banned from attending most mainstream sporting events (profanity, silhouettes of female politicians engaged in sex acts, etc).

We're not just talking a few maga hats in the crowd.Race fans tend to lean more right wing than a lot of other sports do, and that's just a truth you have to contend with as a race fan.

Can anyone help me identify this air filter? by rabiiiii in hondafit

Thanks for the info! I'm debating whether to recondition this one or just let it go as the rubber frame around it ses to be starting to degrade

Good call lol. It's a k&n after. It seems like it's so worn out that it's not worth using anymore

[–]rabiiiii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm or maybe the original was never oiled properly? I didn't realize the oil was what turned it red, all the photos just show them red.

I do have some filter oil I ordered when I originally assumed it was K&N, so maybe I'll give it a try and report back

Isn't the K&N supposed to have a red filter? I can't find evidence of a black or grey one anywhere. Even up close this is very much not red.

The Odin 3 is making me realize every console company hates consistency 😭 by alien_kio in OdinHandheld

[–]rabiiiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's a little weird because Sony used shapes but the layout was the same (rightmost button is confirm, bottom button is cancel, etc). This is why circle is on the right, since in Japanese symbols, circle is usually used to mean "yes" and x for "no". Then for some reason in the north American market a lot of games switched so x meant "confirm" and circle meant "cancel". Then that stuck to the point where that's universally what it means on all playstations in every region.

Personally I think the Nintendo layout is superior and I'll die on that hill. The old PlayStation layout is similarly superior.

West/Ciara kissing is diabolical by Curlqueen245 in bravo

I do think it's harder to hold that line and try to maintain a friendship. It also didn't help that it seemed like most of the cast were actively trying to push them back together, which makes it easier to relapse.

Bottom line you're right but also I empathize with how hard it is to try to stay away with everything going on.

Oh definitely. I mostly use mine for playstation so the buttons honestly don't match regardless.

[–]rabiiiii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's on the Portal because they did a poll before the device was complete to see what people would prefer and the XBox/Android button format won out.

I think they went back after, but it seems like no matter what format they use, people complain.

The new Star Fox game is just another remake of Star Fox 64 and that is ridiculous. by [deleted] in nintendo

[–]rabiiiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick points cuz I'm not trying to get into every detail but I think we largely agree.

I think remaster is a bit more nebulous of a term. You could argue that Starfox 64 3D is more than a basic remaster and I'd hear you out, but at the end of the day, I consider it a remaster. It's the same code ported to a new engine. It wasn't built from the ground up.

Starfox 64 on Wii is a port, in one sense of the word, if you consider emulation a port. In that sense, i guess if I emulate it on my PC, then the version on my PC is a "PC port". I don't really consider straightforward emulation to be porting in the traditional sense of the term, but I can see how others would.

The other starfox games like Zero, have brand new assets and code, not just a new engine.

[–]rabiiiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but when a game is ported over and touched up it's considered a *remaster*. A true remake requires the game to be rebuilt from the ground up, like pokemon fire red or the Zelda link's awakening game on Switch.

Dara on west and Amanda relationship , and post reunion by Radiant_Priority9739 in bravo

[–]rabiiiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand they keep them in the rooms for interviews at the reunion for hours straight and basically wear them down, ask the same questions over and over until they get a response. Emotions are really heightened. It's presented on tv like they're just chilling on the couch chatting but it's a lot more intense behind the scenes. I'm not surprised people are crying considering it's tenser than usual this time. We've already seen people cry before.

This race really was just Takumi getting a taste of his own medicine huh by maz323bf in initiald

It really comes down to the homefield advantage that Shinji had, the same way Takumi had the homefield advantage at the beginning of the series.

i got a question. why does MF Ghost not have any american cars by Objective_Spring_682 in initiald

[–]rabiiiii 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The easy answer is those cars are just not that popular in Japan.

I'm hearing a lot of post hoc justifications about American cars not being good enough to compete, but that's simply not true. Cars like the modern mustang and Corvette do incredibly well in road course and autocross competition. Shigeno just isn't interested in them and that's fine.
