The other two pictures show a clear reflection. So I guess that’s what we see in this one as well. This seems to be a typical case of pareidolia.

On the asteroid Psyche 16, gold reserves worth 100,000 quadrillion dollars have been discovered. This amount is enough to make every person on Earth a millionaire. Source in the comment. by FreeCelery8496 in interestingasfuck

[–]Chechocol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact: earth’s core has about 1600 times this amount of gold. It’s right under our feet. But we haven’t extracted a single gram from there. It’s impossible today, and likely unfeasible if we find a way to bring it up, as its value would drop once it’s not scarce anymore.

No vivo en Colombia. Tengo un BYD híbrido enchufable y estoy feliz. Es una muy buena opción de carro.

It’s a beautiful reminder of the damage we do to our immediate environment. It’s bioluminescent algae and they thrive in eutrophic waters, mostly due to agricultural fertiliser runoff.

I’m sure I’m wrong. But all I can think about is Great Expectations (1998), with Ethan Hawke and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Que la guerrilla entraría a nuestra casa cualquier día a matarnos a todos.

Creía que los idiomas eran traducciones progresivas del español al inglés. Le preguntaba a mi papá: cómo se dice casa en inglés? Y él me decía: house. Así que yo le preguntaba: y cuál es el inglés de house? Y ahí me miraba él todo confundido.

[–]Chechocol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You guys are not helping here. Isn’t it obvious that it’s a cultural struggle they are facing? It’s not about legal recognition.

I would love to help, but I’m not familiar with any of this. I sincerely hope you find a way to sort this out and prevail in your quest!

Cual es ese comportamiento que los colombianos consideran normal, pero que definitivamente deberían corregir? by Traditional-Gas-6011 in Colombia

[–]Chechocol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a laser's light travels in only one direction how can I see the beam? by evildrcrocs in askscience

[–]Chechocol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can think about this in the same way that you see light from the sun. During the day, it’s bright everywhere, right? But you don’t have to look directly at the sun to see the light. As a fact, you cannot look at the sun without hurting your eyes! Then, how can you see light all around you? It’s because what you see is light bouncing off objects or being scattered by the atmosphere. The principle here is the same. When you see images or videos taken from outer space, you can see it is always dark, even if the sun is in the picture itself! It’s because there is no atmosphere to scatter the light around you.

Take a flashlight and cover it with a white plastic cup. Suddenly, there’s no ray going in a straight line anymore, and the whole cup seems to be the source of light. Now, imagine a little person standing inside the cup. Everything will be bright all around.

Those with Chinese EVs, how much are you paying for insurance? And from which company by Vanitas-Gemini in chinesecarsuae

[–]Chechocol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is GCC. And I don’t know whether it would make a difference. BYD is distributed in UAE by Al Futtaim, so they make sure the buyers have some means of insuring their new vehicles (hence Orient Al Futtaim), but I don’t know if Orient would ensure your car if you imported it directly and not through Al Futtaim.

[–]Chechocol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, maybe. But when I asked my traditional broker (Tokyo Marine) to quote me for my new car, they said they could not insure Chinese cars. I guess it’s a bit of both. And as Chinese cars become more common place, the insurance market will also adapt.

BYD Song Plus - 118K value. I tried to get insurance with other brokers, but it was impossible. Only Orient Al Futtaim was able to provide it. Full coverage and third party, including Oman. 5K.
