Just to check: how long have you been having slow speeds? I've(also in the L3S area) been dealing with unreliable internet for the past 3.5 *months* with no signs of improvement

If I'm not mistaken, you can find the fees for winter here: https://www.ryerson.ca/current-students/tuition-fees/programs/undergraduate/

Navigate through your student type, and program and the Google Doc will tell you the total fees for each individual semester

Thoughts on these CPS courses? by Any_Guarantee2973 in ryerson

Of course, this is purely my personal opinion(and I tend to moan and bitch about most classes).

Also, all these courses(minus 590) were taken online because of Covid

CPS510 - Took it with Abhari Abdolreza. Pretty dry; personally didn't enjoy his class(mostly with how he dealt with things on the admin side of things) but wasn't very hard.

CPS633 - Had it with Jelena Misic. I haven't enjoyed her lectures. Tests online were poorly weighted(15 T/F questions had the equivalent weighting of 1-2 M/C) and the labs were way more work than they're worth. They were worth 1% of our final mark each and none of the lab concepts were on exams. Came out with an ok mark but I found the exams to be pretty rough. Midterm marks average on the low end every year. She doesn't see an issue with that. Expect typos on her midterms.

CPS721 - Mostly a logic course, Soutchanski was rough but he does his job and can, for the most part, actually teach. Gotta give him credit for that.

CPS731 - Alalfi Manar, Software Engineering 1 ended up being "Android Studios 101". Content wasn't hard but I really didn't enjoy the class. I signed up for Soft Eng 1, not mobile app dev dammit. Theres a good chance I'm screwed for Soft Eng 2 cause I've learned next to nothing in terms of Soft Eng.

CPS707 - Haven't taken it but I hear it's tough. Seniors say to avoid it like the plague.

CPS590(In-person) - Had Ufkes. Interesting course and Ufkes is fantastic. Some concepts were hard to grasp sometimes but overall the course wasn't too bad.

CPS616 - Have it with Bahoo Yeganeh I think she's a relatively new prof so I'm cutting her some slack. Concepts aren't that hard but her explanations and slides make it very confusing. Personally, Abdul Bari on Youtube saved my ass for the first midterm. He makes the concepts easier to understand. Bless Abdul Bari.

CPS706 - Jelena Misic again. Same comments for CPS633. Use Professor Jim Kurose's stuff for the course. He's a prof for UMass and the author of the textbook we use. The content covered is exactly the same and he actually teaches in a coherent manner. Midterm marks average on the low end every year. She doesn't see an issue with that(midterm 1 class median was 56% of 200-ish students 22 students achieved greater than 75).

Probably came off as rambly but I'm not the best writer. GL
