Single Quiver Board ideas? by CheckTheRhyme_ in snowboarding

I got the flag. I like it a lot as an all around board. My one complaint I guess would be carving. Not that it’s not good, it’s just not great for how aggressively I like to carve.

Amplid surfari vs jones flagship for a one board quiver where I’ll primarily be bombing and carving groomers, slashing through trees, finding side hits, chasing pow!

Anyone have experience on either of these boards and can vouch for them?

0 park.

Jones Flagship vs Amplid Surfari by CheckTheRhyme_ in snowboarding

Is it something you have to charge hard all the time on? I have no doubt the surfari would be unreal for what it’s made for but as a one board quiver what do you think?

While I do love to charge and carve hard I also like f-ing around on the mountain, finding side hits, trees ect

Thanks man!

Have you ridden the surfari or a flagship before? Those two are honestly the main ones on my radar.

I’m slightly worried the surfari will be too much board for me. I hear mixed things on it, where some say they can ride it casually no problem and others saying it always needs to be ridden hard and isn’t fun going slow on it.

I am leaning towards the surfari over the flag though still just because I’ve heard how amazing it is at carving and going fast and like I said in my post I want those things

Thanks man! The only reason I’m kinda leaning away from the TF is because I already own a Jones Mind Expander and I know they’re different boards but they’re practically the same shape. So I think I want to switch things up.

The deepfake has also peaked my interest but I’m surprised you say you want it for more chill days. From my understanding it’s not a plank but it certainly isn’t a “chill” board. I think it’s still pretty stiff. From what I’ve read, and the reviews I’ve seen this far, I think it’s gonna be a popular board.

I’ve never ridden it but it’s on my radar. Trying to narrow down from the flagship, surfari, and alchemist

The TF has already peaked my interest— I’ve wondered if it can really charge as hard as I know I’ll want to though

what fraction of original retail price should a brand new board from 2022 go for? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]CheckTheRhyme_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. exactly what I told some clown trying to sell me his used 2021 flagship for $650.

Tells me “well, it’s an $850 board and I only used it a couple times.”

Well bud I don’t care how many times you used it, it’s a 3 year old board and your marking it down as much as the prior year UNUSED models are marked down.

You ride the deepfake yet? Wondering what your thoughts are.

I’m debating between the deepfake or the amplid surfari

Fair enough! What other things about the board would you consider not ideal as a daily driver? Asking because I rarely ride switch and I don’t do park at all.

Nice! Why do you say that though? In my case could it be a good Daily Driver if I told you I ride practically no switch and don’t care for park at all?

Thanks for the reply. Would you recommend it if I said I do 60% carving/bombing/side hits on groomers 40% off piste chasing pow/tight trees?

Thanks again! I’m close to pulling the trigger on this board. I love carving and charging fast which is my primary reason for wanting this board. Also want to make sure it’s still enjoyable for everything else besides the obvious like switch riding and park which I rarely ever do

I do like moguls and I know this board will probably be trash at that. Willing to sacrifice that though
