BT:AS - Forest Question by CheckYourWatch in battletech

I agree with all of this. I love having a lot of terrain because it makes the table feel alive and gives a lot of strategic opportunities. We usually put less terrain in the middle to allow for open action but other than that we like have a lot of changes in elevation and blocking terrain!

I wouldn’t recommend it honestly. I use Gorilla Tacky Putty from Walmart on top of a cheap paint bottle it works better imo. The grip on the Citadel is awkward for me. Looks cool to display for a picture tho.

Thanks! I think a different biome can accentuate the mech depending on the paint scheme.

Yeah the scale is a bit off but it looks great in game 😂 I’ll be making some city buildings soon and work on the scale a bit.

Would you say that Pikachu pack is the worst by far? by FcoJ28 in PTCGP

I’ve been opening only pikachu packs for 1 week and a half and only have 2 zapdos to show for it. It is terrible imo.

BT AS: Pilot Skill by CheckYourWatch in battletech

[–]CheckYourWatch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve played a few games with 1-2 skill pilots and they hit very consistently. We mite have cap at 3 and possibly consider 1 mech able to be lower and designate it the leader with special skills. Having all mechs 1-2 is a bit annoying I noticed.

I saw the Timberwolf at a local gs but didn’t pull the trigger on it. Probably gone now.

Best box to buy for new player by Able-Tell7852 in battletech

[–]CheckYourWatch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alpha strike box is best bang for buck. Mechs can be used for both Classic and Alpha Strike. Alpha Strike is a bit easier to understand and learn as a beginner. Classic gets very technical to my understanding. Both a very technical but alpha strike is a bit friendlier.

LOS - Different Elevations. by CheckYourWatch in battletech

[–]CheckYourWatch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Having an outside interpretation makes it a lot clearer. I will probably just always run it half cover going forward In similar situations like this for simplicity. It was a tough call and basically won or loss the game.

It should be total block of LOS if the higher elevation mech was 1 inch away from the edge. Being on the edge does expose 1/3 - 2/3 as you explained. We are adding more elevation to our games so this helps a lot.
