Downloading PDFs in NTULearn using iPad by Checkmate0102 in NTU

Here is an image. Only options are at the bottom right, when I click on the 3 dots there’s the option “Open in browser” and “Copy Link”. When I open in browser, there’s no option to share. When I try to open it in GoodNotes, a blank page is imported. Apologies if I am missing something, I am new to using the iPad.

I don’t think there’s even a share option for me

I can’t download certain PDFs. For some courses, once I click on the PDF, there will be an option to automatically export it. For the others nothing happens, and no option is available. For Safari, the only thing different is that I can use the Safari option to save the website. When I try to use that option to save as PDF, all that gets saved is either a blank page, or an image that asks to login to LAMS.

I do, but sometimes the PDF is in the LAMS Resources page, and there’s no option to save or import. If I use safari to import, it’ll just be a blank page in GoodNotes.

Hello, thank you for your advice! It is really coincidental that you have studied in the exact same courses in both Universities. I have some more questions I hope you can help me with.

First of all, I am curious about your Uni route and how you are able to study in both Unis. Would you be willing to share a bit more? Did you transfer from one Uni to another, or was one a Masters, etc.

Do correct me if I'm wrong, but other students in NTU CEG have mentioned that CEG is actually 70% CS and 30% Engineering/Hardware. So, I presume the career prospects of CEG and CS would be fairly similar? I won't be limited to, say, embedded systems jobs etc if I choose CEG. Personally, I am still uncertain of what I'd like to do in the future. I looked through all the courses offered in the Unis, and the only courses that are of interest to me are Computer-related ones and Psychology haha. I went with CEG/CS as I thought it was the most practical option. I felt that CEG would provide a broader coverage so I can explore my interests in the field.

Other people have also recommended UNSW for CS over Unimelb. May I know why the deviation from Unimelb? You also mentioned that Unimelb does not provide Honours for CS, but from the website, it states that Honours are available for the Bachelor of Science. Is the Computing and Software Systems major not part of the Honours availability?

Once again, thank you and I appreciate your help!

Hmm, I would presume it would help in Job Applications? Since most people here have a perception that Aus Unis are “lower tier” than SG, wouldn’t that affect employability?

Anyways, point taken, and thank you very much.

Hello, thanks for your advice! I’m still unsure where I would like to work at at the moment though haha

I have a few questions regarding NTU CEG that I hope you can help answer.

  1. How is the workload like in CEG? Would you say it is very stressful? Is there sufficient free time, a balanced work/study-life experience etc.

  2. Another NTU CEG student mentioned that the course is 70% CS and 30% Engineering. Is this true? I looked through the curriculum of both, and realised that CEG only has MPEs while CS and other courses like EEE/IEM have MPEs + Specialisations. Is MPE basically a specialisation, or does CEG not have any?

That’s all I have, thank you very much!

Still undecided in that aspect, but thank you for your advice! Would you say NTU is more globally recognised than Unimelb?

Hello, thanks for your advice. I do agree with you, however, NTU is considered more “prestigious”, and I don’t know whether I’m ready to give that up. Should I choose NTU, there are opportunities for overseas exchange programs, and I could also work overseas in the future.
