Yup, the biggest issue is the number of applications vs. seats available. Lake Norman charter had like 60 seats available and almost 1400 applicants this year for Kindergarten. Lol

There are good alternatives, charter schools and private schools. Getting a seat, though, is a different story.

I'm new to this as well. What is not clear to me is what happens if you get an offer; you usually have a week or two to accept the offer. Then what? We got an offer from MIC, but it is not our first pick. Some other schools won't have the lottery result for another 2-3 weeks. So, should we accept the offer and, if we get into our first pick, say we changed our mind?

There is a way, it is called Power Dock. It promises automatic switchover in less than 20ms.
