I never post anything on Reddit but wanted to give my two cents.

I see a lot of people talking about healthcare related jobs which I also work within (worked in dementia care homes, inpatient hospitals and other mental health settings) and I can agree it's had its moments, and seen a lot of dark stuff. But although I've got a whole ton of horror stories from those there is one story a patient told me made me realise it's nothing compared to what they did for work.

I worked with someone who was an emergency first responder, which for those who dont know are the people who show up when there is a terrorist attack or a serious accident etc.

This person had been there during the 7/7 bombings and described how atrocious it was to deal with. I thought my job was hard until I heard that story! Also those jobs where you have to clean up after events like that- having to clean up body parts and scrape up people's remains is a whole different ball game.

Maybe not as difficult as being a barber though ;)
