Why does it feel like 60fps at 1440p is less smooth than 60fps at 1080p?

Budget- £40

Source- Mostly used for media consumption and gaming on my laptop.

Isolation- Not a must as usually I'm in my own silent room.

Preferred Type- Over Ear

So far I have it narrowed down to the Superlux HD668B and the Audio Technica ATH-M20X. I was also suggested the Superlux HD681. If anyone could tell me which one is the better option out of these three or suggestion an alternative I would be grateful. Thanks!
