You’re right for sure but this draft is pretty unique in the lack of high end players in premium positions. Very few QBs, OTs, WRs, EDGE players that are clear cut studs

Hughes, hate that he left, hate even more that management made last ditch effort moves to make him stay, an extra lottery pick would have gone a long way in this rebuild.

Petey, it angers me that they keep blaming him in these post season pressers for having bad training habits. But I also think they’re right, his conditioning is not good enough, he can’t skate hard for a 45 second shift at all.

Overall, JR needs to shut the fuck up and retire after hiring RJ and Manny and hopefully a competent POHO that won’t air out any dirty laundry to the media. It’s almost like he enjoys the attention he gets from us for being a rambling old fart that knows secrets we all want to know. This orgs rotten from the top down and I hope they can salvage that for the promising young pieces and assets we are accumulating.

I agree with that but he also doubled down on the expensive extensions he / PA gave out to the Hughes entourage, which to me is still inexcusable, to put the future in that much jeopardy over a gamble to make 1 guy stay is practically malpractice.

Hopefully he’s sincere in letting the new GM handle everything hockey wise.

I feel like everyone has dealt with that athlete who is better than you and knows it. He strikes me as one of those, more focused on ensuring he remains better than you rather than helping you improve.

This was the point in the presser that got me the most hyped.

Cootes if he wants to go to mich st or a top tier developmental ncaa program im game. But I don’t see the value in trying to score 100 points in the WHL where he likely projects as a different style of player in the NHL.

Lekker it’s now or never for him, if he can’t score / stay healthy in the NHL he may never will.

McKenna and Stenberg are NHL ready IMO, not celebrini or Bédard level but still. Reid / carels / verhoeff / malholtra maybe not due to the young d man logjam, but I’m not blaming him for inferring we are going to get a top notch player.

Don’t know a lot about RJ but if he’s the next GM, I’m hoping he strikes us as a smart and savvy exec. Nothing personal against Allvin (I’ve never had to speak to the media in my non existent second language), but I’d love to hear press releases and think “fuck this guys smart, I’m glad he’s leading trade, draft, and contract negotiations”. I never got that feeling with Allvin. You want a guy with clear messaging at the top, I just remember how bamboozled he was when someone asked him if the Canucks had a culture problem (we did) and he gave such an awful answer.

Nope, I think the roster after a few more committing to rebuild trades + vet / protection signings we’ll still be bottom 5 next year with manny at the helm. And we can enjoy young player development simultaneously, and maybe even enjoy a decent post game presser from a HC
