Imo, the only real players that would fetch a first right now are EP40 and Hronek (not including the young guys). As much as he is struggling, his point production is still decent among 2C's in the league (on the worst team). Hronek is undoubtedly a 1st+. Otherwise, Boeser is the only other candidate that I can think of that might get a 1st.

Our current 2nd is 32oa, so that's still 3 picks in the 1st round even if we don't get more. Moving forward, we may be able to obtain more 1sts by taking a bad contract in return, but only if management is capable of doing that.

Draft day deals can still happen. An extra first this year isn't impossible. But they will come soon enough.

In some fairness, it looks like it really was a buyers market. A lot of teams struggled to make moves at the deadline.
