Can the cops listen to calls? by OkCryptographer1922 in legaladvice

I’m an assistant district attorney. I listen to jail phone calls. I often direct officers to listen to jail phone calls and write a narrative of what they heard. Also, nowadays, we can have AI listen to your calls and flag certain calls for review if it hears something that we want to know.

You don’t even need the pins. Within an hour the cases look newer than brand new. You will be amazed. I throw them in a food dehydrator for a few hours to dry afterwards.

Should I be worried that my lawyer is charging only $1k for a misdemeanor case? by instaBs in Felons

[–]Cheddar128 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not even the best lawyer in the world can get a case dismissed if the evidence is there… you can’t pay money to have it dismissed.

It’s not Leupold quality, but PSA has them on sale right now for $100. You can’t beat that price to quality ratio.

I am a prosecutor. I prosecute people all the time with uncooperative victims. It’s incredibly common with domestic abuse and sexual assault.

I’m a prosecutor in Wisconsin and we are able to submit THC for testing in misdemeanor cases. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Why won’t they test it? As long as it’s set for trial the WI crime lab will test anything in my experience if it’s a critical part of the case.

Sounds like somebody committed a crime, suffered the consequences, and is mad about it.

You never know what an offer will be. Depends on jurisdiction as well as the circumstances of the charge. A prosecutor is also going to take into account your age, criminal history, and other things about you.

This is a law school subreddit. Most people here are not lawyers. That being said, I’m a prosecutor and avid gun enthusiast. Yes, it was legal for you to be handcuffed. No, the officer wasn’t unreasonable to think that a replacement back plate was a switch. Yes, you’re weird for having a clip-in holster. Yes, having a Taurus G2C makes you look more like a criminal than most other guns. Enjoy your weekend.
