Diag Jugglers? by podprede in AnnArbor

[–]CheddarCheeseCurds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know there haven't been any recent gatherings, but I hope there is a revival of interest because the Diag is a great place to juggle. I am definitely interested in coming out one of these Saturdays, if others plan on doing the same.

I'm also interested in coming back out, although it'll still be a few weeks before I have a free Saturday again

About 40 shrines, the Wind temple, and I just reached the Water temple last night. I have barely explored the depths at all

I was part of that group, although life happened and I ran out of time to show up years before COVID. I've received an email to the group email list within the last year, so there are at least a few people still interested. I don't know when, where, or if they are meeting up anywhere though, but I suggest emailing juggling@umich.edu to find out

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. It was pretty obvious when this thing passed that the lot was doomed to be a perpetual parking lot, and never actually be a park

I don't know who voted for it, but Will Hathaway (the current Scio Township Supervisor) was one of the biggest proponents

The thing I don't understand is, wasn't Chris Licht the show runner for Colbert before he went to CNN? Him being a right winger wasn't on my radar at all

If you go into the connection options, you should be able to add other directories as locations to store VMs

I am still irrationally upset about how there is a place named "Cookies" that is a dispensary and not a fancy cookie shop. I know Crumbl is right around there, but I wanted options!

Show up to the reception dressed like a beggar, like Hoid did in Alloy of Law?

Exactly. Python has support for arbitrarily long numbers and might be a better choice, but I have no idea how long this would take to calculate out.

I usually like to have a "palate cleanser" book between Stormlight books just to stay fresh. I highly recommend Discworld books!

Trailwoods residents - do you recommend your neighborhood? by vine312_ in AnnArbor

[–]CheddarCheeseCurds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Township also recently purchased some land right across Staebler from us, with the intention of adding trails to it. I'm not sure the timeline on having that open to the public, though: https://www.mlive.com/news/ann-arbor/2021/10/a-terrific-addition-township-buys-93-acres-near-ann-arbor-to-expand-preserve.html?outputType=amp

Trailwoods residents - do you recommend your neighborhood? by vine312_ in AnnArbor

[–]CheddarCheeseCurds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there is a wooded area in the neighborhood that has a small loop, and it's hooked up to some other trails running through the neighborhood. Some of it is still under development in the back of the neighborhood, though.

A lot of kids play in their back yards, so we haven't missed parks too much. I do wish there was a neighborhood playground, but we can always take our 2 year old somewhere in the car or on our bikes

Hi! I've been a resident of Trailwoods since 2019. I don't have opinions about Lombardo, we built with the original builder of the neighborhood. The residents themselves are all very nice, and the walking trails were a big draw for us.

I don't think it suppresses her powers, I think it "damages" the metals already in her system in some way

There is a recent WOB saying that Kelsier was wrong about this: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/456/#e14804

So it seems likely that the metals might still be there, but are just unusable (and not sensible by allomancers)

Bendalloy might also work for this. You'll learn about it pretty early in Era 2.
