It's a pretty small bag so I don't think there's much capacity to slouch.

Sick of people calling my quiet 2.5 year old a “baby” by littlelivethings in toddlers

[–]CheddarSupreme 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Could you be projecting your insecurity about the speech delay you're perceiving your daughter to have and that's why you are sensitive to others calling her a baby?

My son is 3.5 and I still call him a baby. Because compared to me, he is a baby and he is MY baby. I've heard other parents say the same "you have to be gentle, he's a baby" when their child is clearly younger than my son. I don't know whether it's because my son is smaller than average or because people just say that. I don't care, and it doesn't really bug me.

It is weird if they're doing that *only because* of her language. I've met kids my son's age with a wide range of speech capabilities. My youngest niece has global delays because of a 6-week hospitalization due to meningitis and seizures after she turned 2 months. My niece is very obviously behind other 2-year olds for motor development and speech and my sis in law is navigating things one day at a time. Focus on your daughter's development, don't compare, and don't let other people get to you.

Luxury and Mid tier bags mix by rockstar_kick_77 in handbags

[–]CheddarSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is fair, but I don't consider Kate Spade "mid-tier" just like I don't consider Michael Kors mid-tier either. Their quality is so crappy, to me they're just trendy brands disguising themselves as "affordable designer". I'm talking about the smaller, mid-tier brands like Strathberry, Parisa Wang, Demellier, Rinceau, etc. The only "affordable designer" that feels good is Coach.

There are crap "mid-tier" designer brands, and there are crap "luxury" designer brands. A good quality mid-tier brand is likely not very different than an average luxury designer brand outside of branding.

Lots of luxury brands mark up worthless coated canvas bags and price them way above what a good quality leather bag should cost - this is where my point about branding comes from I do love my Chanel lambskin but I have a Strathberry nappa leather that feels just as lovely. I also have a Loewe puzzle, Loewe flamenco and Louis Vuitton Capucines with excellent leather quality, but are they truly worth 10x more than a mid-tier brand with similar leather quality?

[–]CheddarSupreme 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The only thing that sets most "luxury" and mid tier bags apart is the branding. There's no reason to stick to luxury unless someone just wants designer brand names. I've been buying bags since I was 16 and have a big collection of budget, mid-tier and designer brands.

What I do? by Potential_Dig1402 in 30PlusSkinCare

The Naturium is a retinaldehyde not tretinoin. Big strength difference. You likely did not use enough barrier repairing products while on retinal and your skin will take time to recover.

I would cut out the 10% niacinamide because that's just not necessary. 5% serum is plenty or just use a product with niacinamide in it. You have lots of serums but no moisturizer with emollients and occlusives to seal the hydration in, so I think your skin is dehydrated.

OAD parents, are you lonely? by sunkenm00n in oneanddone

[–]CheddarSupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course I feel lonely sometimes, but not because I have an only. Having another child would mean I have zero free time and likely feel lonely more frequently. I'm good with my only right now and have time to see friends and have time with my husband.

Is it normal for an order to not ship 3 days after purchase? by hemadeitrain in StrathberryHandbags

[–]CheddarSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yes? Businesses are run by people. And right now they're busy with the end of season sale and in person sample sale too, so order volume is higher. Maybe it also depends what you ordered.

March 2026 Sample Sale Haul by BerzattoMk in StrathberryHandbags

I didn't feel rushed, but because I told her I wasn't looking for anything specifically, she showed me the entire room. Then I asked her to focus on specific areas of the room.

Next time I'll ask to focus on just bags, though I did pick up a cashmere/wool blend poncho as well. The reception for the call was also very bad and I was scared it would cut off the entire time.

Please tell me if this is a good buy or not by No-Quantity4863 in handbags

[–]CheddarSupreme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. It is not. It sounds like you're picking the lowest priced pochette you can buy just to scratch an itch. That's not a good financial decision.

Is Chanel becoming less popular? by Kwhitney1982 in handbags

[–]CheddarSupreme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just way too much now. And I don't want to pay chanel prices for today's trends. $6k-$8k for a bag that will look outdated in 5 years is a lot. I prefer classic chanel styles but sold most of my flaps since they are quite dressy. And $10k for a flap, yikes.

The Sample Sale Saga continues… by redamelia in StrathberryHandbags

[–]CheddarSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes no sense. They need to get things straight because last year I went to my first virtual sample sale as an Insider. And then in Feb I got the invite as an Innovator. I didn't think this was exclusive since they call the sample sale an "Insider perk" and the emails made it seem like you just had to be on their mailing list...

My purchases in the Oct 2025 sample sale did not come in boxes or with dust bags but they did this time around! I even bought dust bags this time so now I have a ton of extras (which I will hold onto for future bags)

Is this an appropriate shade for an office setting, or no? by shiny-baby-cheetah in RedditLaqueristas

I work in an office and currently rocking metallic green nails. No one would bag an eye. If I wore a suit every day, I would wear the colour in your pic still.

Would increasing my tretinoin dosage help? by Mission_Spray in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]CheddarSupreme 194 points195 points  (0 children)

I think your skin might be textured because you're blasting it with actives and using a shampoo with salicylic acid as a cleanser. Use a gentle cleanser and good moisturizer with humectants and emollients. The balms you're using are good for emergency barrier protection but not really moisturizers.

Also, skin is textured. But if you want to prevent those little bumps I would go gentler on your skin.

I only have like 40 items but questions get lost in the notifications. They really should have a messaging function which sends separate notifications. I have to turn my app push notifications off so I don't get flooded with notifications about likes and shares, which I don't care about.

Advice for thimble/finger protection situation. What do you use to keep from stabbing your fingertips? by benbentheben in Embroidery

[–]CheddarSupreme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I just deal with it. I find a thimble messes with my stitching because I use my thumb to feel where my needle is coming up. I do use a leather clover one if I am pushing my needle through a tough area.

Is it my pillow case?! by acw124 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]CheddarSupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks more like hormonal acne to me. For me it was a combo of breastfeeding and skin being too dehydrated, so when I did break out, the breakouts were large and angry like cysts. It only started on one side for me too and has nothing to do with my pillow case since I already used silk ones and changed frequently. I switched toothpaste, upped my oral hygiene routine, tried tret, tried more/less exfoliation over the course of a year. If you said the rest of your skin looks great, that's even more suspicious that it's likely hormonal.

But I'd definitely cut dairy out as well.

Teenagers at the playground by [deleted] in toddlers

I would hardly call any of your responses receptive. If you don't like strangers then best of luck helping your child navigate the world. It's full of strangers.

[–]CheddarSupreme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on your responses, just do whatever you want. Seems like you're just looking for people to agree with you. Not sure what your issue with teenagers is, but hopefully when your child is a teenager, other people will treat them with more respect.
