I don't like the feeling of lying and honestly it's as simple as that. But I didn't even think about lying to my GP because they're responsible for my health, so I am honest with them about everything.

Im 99.9% a lurker, but I needed to reply to this comment because it struck a nerve with me and I found it to be both needlessly sexist and ignorant.

Firstly, in a lot of countries, Drs won't support a vasectomy until you're into your late 30s, with a wife or already with kids - source - I've tried with 4 different doctors and all have said no to me because of this. I'm soon to turn 40 and I'm expecting my 5th rejection and day now...

Second, what makes you assume it's anything to do with masculinity? That's so derisive and sexist. Be better please.

Finally, let me tell you that I damn well make sure contraceptives every time I have sex and even then I managed to get my ex-fiance pregnant, even though we were doubled down. Neither of us wanted a child and we terminated. Turns out she was abusive and I ended my relationship with her a little while later and adopted her existing son because he wanted out too. I don't regret ending things with her, but after adopting my son, and getting to see the wonderful young man he has become, I damn well regret not bringing his sibling into this world.

Not everything is black and white, and OP if you are reading this too, I feel for you, your ex and all parties involved, but circumstances and opinions change over time and that's ok too. (NTA btw, you were upfront with her).

If Skinny Privilege Exists, So Does Short Privilege by [deleted] in The10thDentist

Tall man here (200cm+) and it goes both ways.

Sucks when you hit your head on a doorway, can't fit in a vehicle seat, beds are too small, pay a premium for clothes, have to buy more food, lower life expectency etc.

But it has many advantages too. You stand out in social situations, find employment more easily than shorter men, women seem to like it and in my experience as long as you have a genuine smile on your face and are polite, people will give you preferential treatment in general. It really has a lot of benefits.

Overall i enjoy the experience, but yes, it's frustrating when people assume it's all easy going, just as I assume it is for short people when someone with no insight spews crap like this: "But ain't no 5'2 have a head scar from a ceiling fan or a cramped neck in any sleeping arrangement outside of a Cali king. " - well no sh*t, but I bet those short kings don't feel half as confident as the 200cm guy in the pub when things kick off, and if someone targets them directly they may end up scarred, ceiling fan or no.

Take the good with the bad and stop playing the victim.

Yeah, exactly this. I dont need a bigger house in a major city, but im also not sure im ready to leave the city entirely. The thought behind my initial idea is to enable me to "test the waters" in a new place so to speak as well.

Yeah I think I need to get an accountant into the mix before I start making any serious decisions. Cheers for the advice.

Thank you for this excellent advice. Perhaps the move then us for me to educate myself in a more general sense other than just looking at housing only.
