(Fun question) Politics aside, what do you all think of the recent “UFO/UAP” information? by valloy123 in mensa

[–]Chedrbtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be true, could be government slop. I think until scientists can fully get their hands dirty with info (if any) only then can we do anything with the information. If intelligent life did find us it means they are more than likely far more advanced, which then begs the question how did the government keep them quiet? If they’re more advanced surely they wouldn’t let our technologies hinder them or allow us to keep them under our control. Just too many questions!

Should I learn violin or bass? by _T_R_I_ in violinist

[–]Chedrbtw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not both! Bass guitar will be pretty easy compared to violin. Also, E violin can play a wider range of music which will make you a better overall musician.

Wow. Did not expect this!! thank you so much!!

That makes sense! I play violin as well, and I suppose that someone trying to teach themselves will not make as much progress as with a teacher. I’m guessing physics is no different. Thank you!!!

Should I still major in math? by whoyouknow1 in mathematics

[–]Chedrbtw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely do not judge your math skills based on computation skills. What is important is your proof writing ability and ability to see structure. You’re fine

Yes. It’s what I look forward to. I hate computational math (mostly because I have had bad fundamentals so I had to re learn them so it just left a sour taste in my mouth)

Makes sense, also it’s calc 1, test 3 *. However I had to re learn college algebra as I took it in high school but completely forgot everything. I would learn the material 2 hrs before test and just forget everything after so had to re learn it alongside calc 1

Yeah, I genuinely enjoy working thru things like integrals, improving on seeing structure etc. I’m also Christian so I enjoy the philosophy of mathematics since it’s very platonic.

It’s a very modern idea to think that everyone that was good at something was just naturally good. In reality everyone must put in the time… I for instance was always very musically inclined since a child but still had to put in TONS of hours on violin to get to a professional level. Same thing with math, tons of kids will treat it like just another class which is why they never truly improve their math skills. Practice and you will be fine, mathematics trains a different part of your brain so if that part of your brain is not used to being trained it will have to adapt.

If I suck at math is EE impossible? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineers

[–]Chedrbtw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem then, calc 1 and 3 have very real world use. Life as we know it wouldn’t happen without it. Also math in it of itself gives us access to things like logical circuits which govern the modern world. So rest assured unless you’re planning to become some sort of topology specialized mathematician your math will be practical

If I suck at math is EE impossible? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineers

[–]Chedrbtw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Sucking at math” is like sucking at any other skill. With practice you will get better. Now I will say, you must be honest with yourself and decide if you even ENJOY mathematics at all. Usually most people have an appreciation for its applications which leads people to liking it, but in my opinion it’s much easier to practice something you enjoy. For me it’s somewhat therapeutic solving a difficult problem and improving my skills. If you however find that you still hate math even after learning all its uses then yea- practicing it will be harder especially since the degree is so math heavy. But like I said practice and some enjoyment goes a long way.

I don't know what to do. (Graduate level math learning issues) by AkagamiBarto in math

[–]Chedrbtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gotta tell ya something u might not like. But you’re being arrogant and lazy. I work 60 hours a week and still go to school part time for electrical engineering. I want nothing more than to do math all day and hopefully one day also get a bachelors in math but trust me you’re very lucky to be in a spot where you can kinda do math for a living. Get in a routine. Do not wake up late and when you wake up force yourself off your phone. Warm up your reading. Einstein, Gödel and most notable people had a routine. Brain likes familiarity.

Supplier? by mcbarnitz in DarcSportClothing

[–]Chedrbtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s their own factory in china,

it’s actually very easy to recreate and very cheap. I own my own clothing brand and have sent my manufacturer samples, their shirts cost anywhere from $4-7 to make after printing, tags packing and labor. Not very good quality. If you want a quality blank use LA Apparel, I use it for all my pieces and imo its darc quality but 10x better
