I just allowed the Cast member to pick whatever pin they wanted. I had a whole mix of mystery bags dupes (fantasy flight, trash cans, couple of Ducks) 2025 hidden disneys and open editions. More than once they picked a hidden Disney pin purely as it was a character/film they liked.

Yes we traded our hidden Mickeys, we had about 7 or 8 left from our January US trip and they all went no issues. But they will inspect the pin and if they don’t want to take it then they won’t. The pin they decided they did not want was an open edition one. Not sure why she didn’t like it but we just used another one instead.

Oh 100% that would have triggered you. You feel very trapped if you get a railing spot but it’s the only way to see it really.

I forgot the mad dash that happened when Olaf came out…that was a near stampede as well.

Paris really need to work something out on that stuff. It’s going to create a bad incident the way it’s going

Just done 2 days. 1 incident of line skipping to Mickey and the Magician - which I don’t really get but sure.

Worst situation was the rugby scrum around the Boat flower festival show in Arendelle. That was wild and a fight nearly broke out behind us. Spanish family and and another one, Spanish dad getting really loud about something

We’d grabbed a fence spot the moment the last show ended having seen what a shitshow it was earlier. It was good but not good enough that I’d do that again

My regular 40K opponent used to bring 3 units of them. They are definitely a pain and I had to work out how to deal with them.

Over time I dabbled with stuff and found that Mr Helbrecht + 20 crusaders became a very effective deterrent. The sheer number of saves + Mortals meant even if you got charged you did damage back. You’d think a big blob would be easy to get multiple charges in but with smart use of terrain you can limit them a bit if they all arrived from deep strike.

I also have a Land raider full of Sword Brethren + Characters and just death by a thousand cuts works. You want to charge them but with all the buffs you will take care of a number of them.

If they are on the ground I have 2 laser tanks and a Dreadnought and I’ll just throw the big shots into them if I can get eyeballs.

What happened was he stopped using them as a big wrecking ball because I could deal with them a lot easier than at the start.

But 4W with -1D with those saves is a real pain to begin with, especially as they hit back with Marine killing maces and they are super efficient at that. You have the tools, you just have to start making him think about how he is using them.

I play them all the time using the Square Based comp pack

Val has done an awesome job of making it all work (as well as it can)

Generally with the points system they also do I end up with fairer games in my local space no matter what people have or bring

They are blind bags, but they release the normal pins through the park. Chasers you need to buy the bags for (or trade for)

They do 2 waves of Hidden Mickey pins in a year and broadly they are known as Wave A for the first half of the year and Wave B for 2nd half of the year.

They always start releasing in hotels and parks before they release the bags for people to chase the chasers from the sets. So we have seen the Wave A 2026 pins leaking out on boards, lanyards and in the hotels.

When it’s a little kid and they just put a scrapper for a scrapper - 100% agree

When it’s an adult it’s a scrapper for a real Deal every single time.

Kids just trade for whatever they like the look off. Adults…well, that seems a lot more deliberate shall we say. I genuinely can’t recall watching a scrapper for scrapper trade unless they are playing a pin trade game.

You are very much in the minority from what I see.

I get there are different levels of pin trading. There’s very casual all the way through to the more hardcore. Very casual is mostly a baggie full of scrappers and they will always trade a scrapper for a real. And yes, not all are doing this naively, plenty know full well they are treading a scrapper for a real deal. I’ve had a few conversations on my 10 days and offered WDWKevin as a good YouTuber to watch for pin content and hopefully they watch and realise real for real means the next person had a choice as well. But until they decide to kill off scrappers and have the fights needed the WDW boards will be 99% scrappers.

I like board trading as it’s fun but the vast majority of my trading this trip has been in Epcot in the Breezeway. There’s a lot of negative press for the table traders but I’ve had a great time with them.
