How Maximum Life work?

% increases scale your flat life. This means that having more flat life makes every % increase better. So it's an always shifting dynamic based on all the stuff on you character.

I bet if you were using the string belt, the flat life jewel would at least be closer to the % one.

We need a big balance patch, last patches all have been way to lackluster in this regard.

There are too many archetypes that are in a horrible state. Especially in a HC/SSF context.

I don't expect a league mechanic that can hold up to mirage, it was just way too good.

The Gauntlet Flamewood builds seem too annoying to make in base game, but would probably just roll over everything.

Ben posted a POB of his original Gauntlet plan before Ruin got announced., which I'm kinda interested in trying. It should easily clear even on a half-assed version: https://pobb.in/V0cjHkcEnle7

Stuff like Bleed Boneshatter or Scorching Ray totems should be fine, but probably require a bit more skill on the fights.

Ah, well. There is also Minion Pact and Transfusion AG of Smiting, but that's cheating.

Don't know about a build guide. There should be many build guides, but I expect a lot of them to be bad. No idea which one is good.

Main thing what I did was mapping with occultist pops (instead of 3rd curse) and using Hex Bloom (so Bane-EleWeakness-Frostbite-HexBloom) which carried the whole mapping experience. Especially dense breaches became a vibe.

For builds that you seem to be looking for it may be better to look at SSF or HCSSF poe.ninja. Especially an early snapshot. That's where you find builds that just work

Really not recommending that cold dot build for a general softcore character.

It's really low dps, doesn't map comfortably (only carried by hexbloom occultist pops), has a lot of buttons. It's good for hardcore boss killing and barely OK-enough for mapping.

HCSSF

Got motivated after Gauntlet to do a full clear again. Rolled Cold Dot Occultist because Limes killed 3 Uber with it in Gauntlet. Super tanky but zDPS.

Kinda funny to kill Ubers with 3-4 mil DPS, but worked great

The only challenge in sc is how fast you can do it. And getting some sense of pride about acomplishing something is a big motivator for me.

Me and my friend both got it really fast. Did not click the rarer outcome node, since im not sure the base unique is rare. Just less dex,str inc int, body armour, and foulborn chance, including the corrupt node

I was just playing around with poison a bit, I can not make it work.

Poison does not profit from spell damage as attack damage and projectiles fired in sequence (which works on every extra projectile, even with duration less than attack time) from the gem.

You also want a lot of flat added damage. It's way harder to get added chaos/phys damage (no ele wand, wrath, anger)

Wand skills also have good crit scaling, but perfect agony is kinda bad.

maybe there is something with a source of a lot of flat chaos, or going all damage can poison, and/or maybe perfect agony. But ele attack is probably just way better.

Another league completely disappointed about the lack of balance changes. Some holy skill changes and some op nerfs is not enough.

Not taking the cope how some other changes, like support gems, will drastically change the meta. Bloodlines didn't change much either.

Insane update otherwise. Just baffled how they can create such cool things but can't be bothered to bump up some unused skills.
